The trash are doing what they are supposed do, which is swarm over you. 1 isn't a threat but 10 of them are. Throw in some medium levels threats like mid tier versions of current class enemies from anyone one of the 4 factions (Apollyon's faction might contain all of these faction classes and if so would be the enemy of this mode).Originally Posted by Vordred Go to original post
Also the map would decently large enough and have changing objectives to keep things fresh like they are attempting to capture an area and it is your job to keep any enemies higher than trash out of the capture zone for a period of time. Success would grant xp and a chance at a loot roll failure would give you a debuff of sorts like now the enemy has taken the area and archers can now take the occasional pot shot at you, that you must parry to avoid damage (you know that would feel epic cutting an arrow in half).
Imagine being at the top of a set of stairs leading into a Samurai temple as Apollyon's forces charge up towards your team with your current objective being quite simple.....no one gets in those doors you are guarding.
Another example being that her forces have pushed you into a Knight's castle's central chamber and you must push them all back outside while preventing them from destroying the throne, it's shiny so you don't want that to happen. once outside you then have to take out some archers that have taken up residents on you inner wall.
Every now and again though you would have to fight one, or a few of her hand picked lieutenants as a boss battle that would try and separate everyone involved for some dueling action that could end up being anywhere from 4v1 in your favour, to an attempted 1v4 against each member of your team gasp*. Randomly selected, their number as well as their class/archetype each would have a variety of tactics and strategies needed to be beaten to progress to the next set of waves. XP and loot to be gained from these fights as well. All culminating into the final battle with Apollyon herself as the last boss should you make it. Which of course would cue the heavy rainfall too. I mean what good final sword fight doesn't have rain-falling in it. Though she has brought a few more friends that must be defeated to get her to become active. Though they are used to soften you up for her cause if you want something done right it seems you have to do it yourself. Suffice it to say having multiple people versus one person would be very unfair. We should have brought more.....though to clarify I think this mode would be good for 3 people maybe four. With three it's one per faction but you can't have all classes and would need to make a choice about what archtype you wouldn't have.
