Impressed with the depth of options.
Disappointed in the depth of options.
Overwhelmed by the depth of options!
Expected to see facial customization.
I like that you can destroy gear for XP.
I wish customization was only cosmetic.
I like that you can modify gear's look while keeping its stats.
I want to be able to name my weapons.
I wish gear could be transferred between characters.
Wish gear could be transferred between players.
I don't like that armor have statistics. Just the player P2W buy them, and will have an advantage over other players. Best to remove the possibility of buying armor for real money (it would be fair for the players who won the armor, weapons), or when attaching to match let the game joins us to a similar level of armaments (it would be fair for new players).
I am actually pretty impressed that you allow for keeping the look you like to an item while switching the stats. That's something that took MMO's forever to catch on to and a bit part of making people feel their character looks more unique or more cool in their eyes. However, i'd like to see more variety in items, armor and weapons. I realize this will more than likely be the case in game one full release, but I can only comment on what's been given so far. I honestly didn't put much thought into customizing a characters physical looks like eye color, hair or beard, but I makes sense to have in a game. Especially for the Vikings. Not sure if you guys have started working on that, but it would only allow for more unique characters, which is a good thing since after a point all the character look the same in combat. Please allow for hair color changes at the very least. I was trying to switch skin colors to see if it effected the hair and i'm pretty confident it shouldn't be blonde across the board.
Also the exp gained from breaking down old gear is pretty pointless as you should be gaining much more than 15 exp a match. It should be used to gain more currency since that's kinda hard to get as is and especially since I don't bother actually using the visual gear swap payout since it's pretty expensive.
I really liked customization. My only concern is about equipement upgrade and whether are you going to charge microtransactions to allow a faster obtention of items. If the game is going to cost 50-60€ having P2W options is not good thing.
Besides that, some characters such as the Raider and the Orochi have a poor outcome for stetic customization.
The first post described my thoughts ! ^^
I'd only add that it would be better if you knew how much the stats would be improved when leveling up a gear...
Or at least having a better and clearer visual of what you gained when successfuly leveling up a piece !
(ah, yeah, I don't specially like or dislike the fact of destroying gear for xp, however I like the fact you can destroy some to improve others)
I like customization. I miss character rotation every now and then, when I'd like to see my changes from a different point of view. As ohers already said, the color schemes aren't well thought through. I only unlocked the first couple of schemes, but can't use most because the colors interfere with the armor design. You can't see most of the symbols with the different colors.
Also I scrapped lots of the loot so that now my conqueror and since recently my berserker have the "new" symbol although there's nothing new. It does bug me a little, but hey - it's alpha.
The samurai armor is hard to really customize, because the symbols are merely a hint on the tiled armor.
Another thing is upgrading gear - I mean does it really weigh anything? You have to break down 4 other pieces to gain like 2% on 1 of 3 stats. It feels like a waste of resources that could be better spent in giving those few XP to your hero instead. But maybe I've just upgraded the wrong gear so far.
All in all customization is decent. This is not an RPG or so where looks are half the game. It's enough to be able to fiddle with the details longer than a dominion match lasts without being a pain or getting boring.
Still enjoying the game though. :-)
Wow ! This game has soooo much potential and reminds me alot of Busheido from way back when.
Helmet adhornments - A mane of hair, a castle ornament on top, a centurion top piece, a bladed scythe top piece, etc when you kill 300 players in duel.
Personal Banner - Or a Banner pole attatched to your back ( ronin style ) when you complete 100 objectives.
Belt trophies - Stamped scrolls, swinging bells, skulls, etc for X amount of kills performed while in revenge.
Pages of time - Take old Warriors and use there armour, weapons and livery as unlocks - The Knights of the Crusade, The Knights Templar, etc
Gods and Legends - inspired livery, armour and weapons from myth if the character was playing a Knight why not unlock a Knights of the round table style armour piece when an objective is completed ? At every completion another piece at random is unlocked eventually giving the Knight a full suit. This could work for all factions.
Weapon ornaments, a chain dangling from a weapon hilt holding various trinkets, bells, flowers, religious tokens, favours, etc
More weapons, where are the Warhammers, Pikes, Flails, halberds, Scimitars, Flambergs, etc
How about Ninja, Arabian warriors, Pirates, Centurions, Persians, Gladiators, Bowmen, Spartans, Pikemen, etc
Why not add jousting ? a 1 vs 1 player duel ? If all lances are broken resume the combat like a regular 1 v 1 duel.
Loving it so far !!!!!!
Hi, at first, my apologize for my poor english.
For the moment, i like the customization system, i think it's good to gain reward at the end game and we can keep it or recycle it and it's good.
We have this great feeling to think we will be able to improve our character in all ways, with the lvl up and the equipments.
I just hope there will not be a store with more power equipments than the rewards.
One thing would be great it the possibility to hide the helmet but keep the bonus granted and so have different face and haircut.
Thank you. French kiss <3.
Personally I like the depth of the customization, my only concern is the fact that the Gear comes with stats, which gives players the upper hand over other players. Visually the customization looks amazing, but for me having only two different general looks is not enough to choose from. The Option to change the look of a piece of gear is nice.
I love the ability to chose your armor (gained by playing) and colour the pieces individually with patterns and symbols... the tattoos were also a really nice touch.
One way this system fails though is that the colour of the character's clothing doesn't change when you change the colour pallette, only the armor changes.
This is an issue with the Raider who has a blue kilt... no matter what you change the pallette to, this kilt remains blue, so other colours clash.
Another thing that initially excited me (and then annoyed me) was the ability to overwrite the style of your armor with another style... so basically if you have armor with good stats, but it's ugly, you can change the appearance to a better one so long as you find a better style.
In theory this is great, but doing so costs around 400 gold... since you get 6 to 9 gold per match this is hideously unbalanced.
There's a lot of potential in the customisation... with a few tweaks it could be incredible.
I think you should get more gold for completing/ winning matches and there's no way changing clothing styles should cost so much.
