I have to say that I don't know what game modes are planed in the future. So I only can give my opinion of what I have seen now.
If for the final Version the game would stay like this in the 4v4 mode, it would become very repetitive and boring within a view hours.
The basic ideas of the game are very good, but you need a game mode that hooks a Player and always feel a little different. So I hope the developers are ahead of my thoughts but I still wanted to share my idea (if it isn't already planed) for a possible DLC or For Honor 2.
So when I saw the game mode 4 vs. 4 Players my impression was that is a great battle atmosphere. But with time it got repetitive. Not much was changing, you are battling for the points, killing the NPC's and try to win. Always the same.
So what about to extend this gameplay to an new and bigger picture?
Imagine for example:
You start at the map you already know, trying to siege the castle. Depending on who wins a next round starts. If the attacker won the siege is put further into the castle, you can see a short cut scene and go deeper into the castle. So you have a new map maybe you even can change your warrior in between maps, but the gameplay should switch fluently between maps.
If the defender has won, the attacker pull back and the defender try to chase the attacker to a new more open map.
After round two the same thing happens. Depending on who won, the battle is carried in a new direction or back on the last battlefield that has maybe already optically changed a little.
if the siege was successful the battle goes to the last bastion of the castle or the attackers are pushed out and have to retreat.
I hope you get the idea. In this mode you can play a best of 3 or a best of 5. The battle wouldn't be static like now. Things would happen the front would swap like a tide and the feeling would be more epic. Imagine the attacker have breached the wall and swarmed in but your defending team is able to push the enemy back in a last desperate battle and may even win the game.
You could even go more into detail with objectives.
For example:
If there is a siege engine on a point and the wining attackers hold it while they are winning, a wall crumbles and let's in more attackers NPC's in so the attacker also gets a little tactical advantage that's not to big but feels like changing the battlefield on the next map.
Or deeper in the castle if you hold the prison point as attacker you could free a special NPC for the next round.
So holding objectives has a deeper tactical influence.
I am sure there could be various fun and balanced objectives on the map that would change the battlefield experience a lot and make the game more immersive.
That would be the For Honor game mode I would play for infinite hours. I don't expect that it would be possible to bring this into game until release but I hope one day I'll see a For Honor like this.
I still hope that the finished polished game will be a great experience. So I wish you good luck for the further development.
