Fighting multiple enemies is literally impossible, unless you're a Samurai and can just swing wildly forever.
Which brings me to the next point... Samurai are op right now. Definitely need to be balanced. I'm all for them having more stamina and being quicker but there's gotta be a limit here and I think we're just a little beyond it currently.
Finally, dedicated servers. Who ever thought that wasn't necessary for a game that requires you to react instantly or get your head chopped off was wrong.
I disagree on your first 2 points. Fighting multiples is not impossible. It's hard, which it should be. And, I actually think because the multiple enemies tend to go crazy, you can do well. My experience anyway. Next, you say Samurai are OP. Do you mean both Kensei and Orochi? I don't think either are, but I can see how people think the orochi is.
I totally agree with dedicated servers. I wish I knew why they would choose this over that?
Oh for sure, fighting multiple enemies should definitely be hard. It's actually some of the best gameplay I've experienced in game. But from my experience I've never seen anyone win a 2v1 or more with anything other than a Samurai just spamming quick attack. Which is part of why I think Samurai, yes both, are op - they can just spam quick attack with no penalty basically. That coupled with the quick recovering time etc is too much. I'm not saying get rid of it but it definitely needs to be nerfed slightly.
Id like to see footage of anyone winning in an out numbered situation then I can agree with about its not impossible. Until then Ill agree with the OP because it is absolutely impossible to come out on top when out numbered im my experience or my friends.
As for the Samurai, which I play almost exclusively, Id agree there are some balancing issues (Orochi) but no more than other classes imo.
Samurai class suffers from low health and a few of the counter animations are slow can be interrupted by your opponent so I find that this class fits in nicely with the others.
Conquerors and Raiders kill me a lot when Im an Orochi as well as a good Warden.
peer to peer servers was a bad call but you know, Ubi.
I'm not recording my gameplay, but I regularly win 2v1 and earlier today I won a 4v1. I wish I had recorded that cause I'm not even sure how I did it. It's not rocket science. Slow down, guard a lot, hit when you can. Also, guard blocks are a killer when you're fighting multiples. I can do it with the Kensei and even better with the Conquerer.
As to being OP, somebody that's good can counter all my stuff when playing Kensei. The "unblockable" third hit in the combo gets stopped by guardbreak by the fast viking dude constantly if they know what they're doing.
I don't really think you have to win 2v1 in a traditional sense and I wouldn't say Samurai are op'd at this juncture either. The Conqueror can stall a 2v1 scenario pretty easily until reinforcements arrive, I'm in the school that it's supposed to be a team based game so a stall until your team arrives is marked as a success IMO so players that can't win 2v1 scenarios could just stall them out for awhile and the team gets an advantage in that way.
As for the connection, it's an Alpha, I want to reserve judgement on potential issues until the full game comes out to see if it's fixed.
Kensei not as op as orochi but still op since he has decent speed, long reach, fast combos and can pull off unblockable attacks. Orochi is just the most overpowered one of all the characters and it doesn't help with lag. I've had to put up with orochi players who spam the back dash heavy attack, and it looks like they do some ninja gaiden teleport slash or something.
Again, the Kensei "unblockable" attacks aren't. Either dodge them which is easy or guardbreak them which is harder but still totally doable. I play only Kensei and I've been stomped by that lots of times. And to get to the unblockable attack, I have to hit you twice first. Parry it and it won't happen.
