I'm disappointed in my experience.
I'm having fun but still have reservations.
I'm loving the game but there's still some work to do.
This game is the bestest, don't change anything!
Very steep learning curves. Once it's used to, then it is really great. But some of my friends just stop playing after 3-4 matches because it is hard to learn.
On the other hand, I love the game so far.
When I watched the play videos I thought this game could be easy rock-paper-scissors game, but actually it's way complicate than that and I love it(even though it took several matches for me to learn basics).
So after playing a little of all the available game types, I am highly impressed. I've been following this game since it was announced and was getting hyped up for it. I know it's the Alpha and there are a few glitches. Just a bit too much of a time delay here or there. Or during duels, it'll start before my screen has caught up. (This is PS4 and it's not my connection.) I'm sure it will all be smoothed out before the full release. The customization is detailed and broad. I'm sure there is a lot more to it in later versions as well. The combat style is unique and very well done. I have to disagree with a lot of people on here about the speed. If any of you really have swung an axe or a sword at someone with all your might with the intent to kill them, please correct me. And no, hitting targets and trees and being a backyard warrior does not count. I believe the speed is right on with what an actual warrior would be capable of. Of course it's a little exaggerated on the lesser troops, but it's still incredibly fun to mow down 15 of them at a time in quick succession. The timing is difficult to get used to, for me at least, and I want to throw my controller at the screen now and then, but it keeps me engaged and I can see myself improving as time goes on. People are used to fighter games like Tekken or things like that and want to button mash and have quick combos. This game has always been described as trying to be as realistic as possible. And I think the Dev team have done a wonderful job of trying to keep to the actual workings of old age warriors. Keep up the good work guys. I look forward to the Beta and I highly look forward to the actual release.
1) Pc controls are horribly unintuitive, and there is little in the UI to indicate what to do.
2) Battle sizes are horridly small. In this day and age why are we shooting for 32 v 32 or better battles?
3) There doesn't really seem to be much in the way of a story to discover the world, this will disappoint many that want LORE, COMBAT and PVP.
At the moment I'm really enjoying it. I wont moan about the servers because Alpha is alpha. Firstly the customisation is much better than I originally thought it would be, though I do think there should be A LOT more variation in item appearances (My berserker keeps getting the same helmets over and over with different stats), other than that the customisation is great.
Now the actual game is brilliant, I really found myself somewhat immersed, trying to get used of the style of play, a few animations (or lack of) were bugging me but I feel that will be fixed, also the minions for the defending group are always samurai and the attacking are always knights whatever map I play on, not major but it's weird seeing Japanese warriors defending a viking outpost. I've tried some of the heroes and I like how they each have their own play styles, though I feel like some have had more thought put into them compared to others I don't know of anyone else feels this way.
At the moment domination is my favourite game mode, I like how atmospheric the maps are and how you are constantly moving.
Well, it was designed with a controller in mind, huge amounts of people in battles would detract from the team based goals and the combat system, and the full version has a campaign.Originally Posted by LughDeDannan Go to original post
I just want to add, I feel the maps could be a tad bigger, you sometimes feel very restricted in these very nice atmospheric environments but you can hardly explore. I also feel like the battles could do with a few more minions, you kill about 20 then 5 seconds later you see them teleport in so you get these brief moments of no one being at objective B and it just looks weird, like your castle is being besieged and all the minions are just standing at B chilling out. I think it would look better if there's more of them dotted all over the maps not just one or two by an objective. Again, please try to put the right version of minions as defence I'm tired of seeing samurai minions manning a knights castle or viking outpost.
