I'm disappointed in my experience.
I'm having fun but still have reservations.
I'm loving the game but there's still some work to do.
This game is the bestest, don't change anything!
I'll do a proper response toward the end of the alpha, but this is what I've bullet-pointed so far;
• Some executions cause weapons to clip through enemies
• When rag-dolling, characters clip through walls
• Preview new executions would be nice
• Control scheme has a learning curve, but feels satisfying
• Option to turn off VC entirely
• Marked for Death ability decimates the framerate
• You don't get enough Steel, it's v. difficult to upgrade etc.
• Option to upgrade properly in the post-match instead of having to back out of matchmaking
• P2P connections are a no-no in the long run
• The feel of impacts is spot on
• Vibration feature doesn’t seem to work on PS4
Really enjoying this game and looking forward to see how it evolves over time!
Ive participated in Alphas for going on 25 years. This one is pretty smooth as UBIsoft alphas go; so thumbs up there. Servers going down is expected, wont complain about all that.
Ok so overall, just looking at what you guys want us to look and realizing this is an alpha, so as testers we should really only be focused on the big bugs, little bugs, and where there can be improvement. So I will put down a few things for you here:
1. Samurai need to be nerfed ONLY SLIGHTLY. Revenge could use a little bit of a nerfing. But really thats it. The other mechanics between the races is fine.
2. DO NOT change the run speeds, or the speeds of combat. I see a few posts on here about how certain players want faster weapons speeds... nope. This game was meant to have a weighted and heavy feel to it, because heroes are swinging 30lb axes and 22lb long blades at each other. Go try to beat down a few trees with a large heavy maul, and you will quickly see how hard that actually is. This feels realistic, and unique because of that feel. Its not cartoony and fake. And it means the players have to anticipate and be strategic about how they duel and fight. I definitely don't want this game to start rolling around looking like a dynasty warriors game. Its good the way it is when it comes to speed.
3. Friendlist for the game needs to be tightened up a bit so that its more manageable and easier to see whos on what, and whos available to group.
4. Server stability; I know this is obvious, but Im putting it in there because its a big part of the game.
5. Its alpha, so there is limited maps so far, but I am hoping you intend to drop a dozen or so different maps and castles to fight over and not force us into micro transactions to get them.
Lastly, I havent run into any major bugs yet. I have the graphical settings running at full, and I am streaming, and as of yet, no crashes and no fallign through the world, etc... so good job on the technical end so far.
I checked that I loved the game but still needed more work, because well, its an alpha. But honestly, without having more inside info, I really cant complain to much about anything right now. I love the game, I am hoping the campaign is as fun as the multiplayer, and I am looking forward to more.
Rather than something like what you said, I'd be happy with one more REALLY creative, different game mode, possibly something objective based like CTF, or one life type of thing.Originally Posted by Krys P Bacon Go to original post
IntroductionSo to clarify, I'm not an avid publisher and poster on this forum nor am I an extreme follower in Ubisoft published video games. The following post will be from personal experience, and I cannot obviously cater for each and every user. I believe what I have posted is true, however everything is up to debate and ultimately I am not a deciding factor, however one voice may still have some impact. So, I hereby present you with my first impressions! I am fully aware this game is closed Alpha; and I am only posting this in order to express my opinions and possibly help the community.
The Good
- + 'Loot System'
- + Leveling and Attributes specifically
- + The few different playstyles
- + The matchmaking
The 'Bad'
- - Samurai class' seem to have quite a 'cheesy' playstyle.
- - Certain classes are outright more powerful than others, some don't see play in Duels or Dominion. For example, lots more Samurai and Vikings than my personal favourite(s) the Knights
- - Host Migration, I think dedicated servers may work well, but if that's not a possibility, I guess the current system is fine.
- - No Chatfilter (Allowing for foul language in chat with no filter. May offend some players).
- - Partying system seems rather in-complete; for example you may not all get into the same lobby and will be forced to ALT+F4 to stop the infinite queue.
The 'Bugly'
- .:: Some slight visual glitches; for example cloak or back-piece may clip through body, same goes for weaponry.
- .:: If a bot is taken over by someone who joins late, the bot remains and simply walks out of frame to never be seen again.
- .:: Game connection issues (Joining a lobby in a party).
Thank you for reading, if I helped in anyway, let me know!
I can't even remember signing up for the alpha, so I was extra surprised when I got the mail. I came into the game with no expectations whatsoever. And what can I say, you totally nailed it. I'm not a friend of multiplayer because I usually suck and losing constantly isn't fun. This game however is super easy to learn and hard to master. You habe a chance against experienced players, even if you are a newbie.
What I thought would be nice is if teams switched like each map or so. I played the first 50 or so Dominion matches as Defender and my first match as Attacker was so irritating, as if I had never seen the map before. Other than that I'm totally positively excited. Well done, guys!
Besides the whole, more versatility, more maps rant, I feel some animations and other stuff needs improvement. The conqueror for example. Sometimes the animation on his flail freezes, and the chain becomes stiff, so it's more like he is using some kind of mace. Samurais sheeting the swords through their bodies etc. Also I find it really crappy that for such a big guy Raider depletes his stamina really quickly. On the plus side for the alpha release game is awesome, and would love to see other types of heroes soon.
Not disagreeing with this point, but just a fact check for you, the largest zweihander(biggest greatsword) was only around 7 lbs, the smallest zweihander was around 4. Just that in plate mail and holding it up for long periods of time and swinging it around, 7 lbs can feel like 50.Originally Posted by Eidetic_ Go to original post
I love it but I only have one complaint, you may want to rework the conqueror, especially when the AI use him. He has a tendency to block everything regardless of how many people attack him or if they hit a position he is not blocking. Other than that though I am loving the game, keep up the good work.
I´m very glad to finally be able to play this game, even if its "only" the alpha. For Honor looks awesome. Still you have a lot to do. Had a few connection and performance problems while having a good time killing minions and other players, or at least trying to get them down!![]()
In general I think you should speed up the game a bit, or at least the attacks and movement of the characters.
If you execute somebody and youre close to a wall or something you cant see it because the camrea rotates behind a wall.
Looking forward to play the game when its done.
See ya on the battlefield!
Dedicated servers are a must, consider this something like Battlefield with swordsMore or less.
Also, I cannot enter any of the game modes except AI duel(im getting quite good with a warden, tho, pulling of 3-0 against kensei, which is a pain in the armor cap), so I would like oyu to fix that bug for us who got stuck somehow without being able to plaz any other mods except Private ai duel 1v1.
I love the combat though, very simple, yet very hard to master, that conqueror AI guy was hard to beat.
