    Does guard break not interrupt attacks?

    Topic. I would like to see this implemented. Although who knows... there's already ways of interrupting attacks (parries)

    Guard Break does not interrupt attacks. Attacks are supposed to interrupt Guard Breaks. Think of it a little like rock-paper-scissors. Except it's attacking-guarding-guard breaks.

    The Guardbreak is effectively the same as a throw in a Fighting Game like Street Fighter, and has pretty much the same properties.

    It's a "GUARD" break, not an attack break, that would be a parry and making a guard break interrupt attacks would break the mechanic. Both are two sides of the same coin, and result in both players being reset, as in neither have a distinct advantage afterwards. f you watch any fighting game, specifically Street Fighter, being played by competent people, there's a point in the match where if someone gets knocked down into a corner (much like getting knocked down in For Honor), there is a rock-paper-scissors mechanic that will happen when the knocked down player comes out of their invincible knock down state.

    Either:

    A) The opponent will do a grab in anticipation of the knocked down player choosing to block and be defensive

    B) The knocked down player will anticipate this grab, and jump up out of their knock down to avoid it and counter attack, or counter the throw by doing it themselves, resulting in a "tech" and resetting both players to an even playing field (frame-wise).

    C) The opponent will anticipate the knocked down person trying to counter (by either jumping or tech-throwing) and attack using a move that is safe, since all attacks go through regular throws.

    For Honor works the same way. In many ways, it is literally just one of the best secret 3D fighters I have ever played. However, instead of jumping like in option B, which you obviously can't down, a player can either do a guard break of you own or parry the next incoming attack, and in both cases, the players are reset to an even playing field.

    However, in some cases, the Warden's shoulder bash Special attack will interrupt an enemy attack if you time it right, but this doesn't work on all attacks, usually just slow ones.

    For Honor operates so remarkably close to a Fighting game in its core design that it is killing me inside seeing all these people fail to understand the game's balance. Funnily enough, these same people are probably not proficient at fighting games and would make the same complaints after playing them for as long as they have played For Honor so far.

    kind of reminds me of Souls pvp in that way. it's all about footsies, timing, and prediction
