I have been playing a lot of duels lately to practice the Orochi and I have discovered that when you are in combat it is nearly impossible to feasibly roll out of the way of an attack simply because nine times out of ten it lands perfectly and the opponent gets a follow up attack as well. Is this how it is supposed to be? Because I feel it is punishing players to harshly for wanting to roll away.
The point of the roll IMO is to skip town if you get the opportunity and run away or reposition yourself when fighting multiple opponents. This isn't Dark Souls. Rolling around is not the way to combat opponents in this game. It's takes a more realistic approach. The last thing you want in a game like this is MORE running way and rolling around. If someone is right in front of you hitting you with a sword then you shouldn't be rolling away, you should be fighting them and defending yourself. So yeah, I'd say working as intended. It's not a get out of jail free card to be used when someone gets position on you.
rolling is pretty much the best thing to do in a 2/3v1 then running for dear life. isnt meant for dodging, that's what the "dashes" are for. rolling is a good mechanic for some tactics. i have dealt good damage by using rolls in and out of combos, albeit- extremely spasticlly .. latency also needs to be taken into count for the roll catches
You beat me to it. :POriginally Posted by Lord of Lawls Go to original post
If anything, the assassins rolls are a bit too good. They are extremely annoying when they're running and rolling around like roaches.
Lol, love that analogy. So true!Originally Posted by Altair_Snake Go to original post
I think rolling should be removed entirely.
All people use it for is to get out of a 2v1 situation or a 1v1 situation that they are about to lose. It is a perfect disengage tool that a pursuer can not catch the player who decided to (let go of CTRL, then roll and run) NOTHING!
???? it is easy AS **** to reengage. it is a proper tactic to get the **** out of a gank and if they run during a 1v1, that's on them. they are left with minimal health whilst running around the battlefield. if you can beat them down the first time-- you can do it again.Originally Posted by xjlxking Go to original post
AND if you mistime a roll to get out of a gank-- having to dodge out of 2 or more weapons swinging at you nonstop-- you get heavily punished, taking 2 or more hits from a failed roll. then it can repeat itself when trying to roll from the failed first roll lol.
We gotta coin a new term in gaming lingo: Roaching. It's when assassins contest an area by running and rolling around. Once, a guy did this against me, even though we were in 1v1 and and he had full health... like... dude, you're assassin, you're supposed to go in 1v1s.The frustrating thing is that a player with inferior fighting skills can force a tie when contesting a zone in this fashion.
