I haven't really had any problems fighting the Orochi. Most players I've dealt with just ran away a lot but that's a strategy for them. Otherwise 1v1 or even 2v1 I've beaten them plenty and I was just playing as the Raider. They are beatable and there is a skill to fighting back against them.
Here's an easy fix for the samurai. Keep their movement and damage how it is, in real life that's what a samurai was; agile and deadly. Instead make them take more damage. Sure they can run in, quickly rack up damage and wreck havoc but if they stay to long or get cocky then the have the chance of being destroyed. Samurai armor is just leather, bamboo and clay; it's by no means strong.

I've been playing as the Orochi quite a bit since it fits my playstyle in most games. I mostly do 1v1s and I'm level 13 with it. I played against the same opponent for about 2 hours. We exchanged tips and messages the entire time. He was playing as the first knight (Vangaurd I think) and we were very evenly matched. He kept the pressure up with constant ligt attacks and when I tried to roll away he would roll forward and instantly keep up the pressure. This can be good if you're not predictable because the Orochi can only gaurd for about a second so you're forced to parry (deflect). It can be very difficult to deflect every incoming attack. The deflect+R2 is too slow most the time and the deflect+R1 can lead to trades or you being gaurd broken.
I would say the Orochi is over used which will lead some people to believe it's over powered.
I've lost fair and square to all classes. Vikings constantly throw me off ledges and the Vangaurds deflect combo is super strong,
Deflect is broken; too easy to pull off and punish your opponents with. It often causes duels be at a halt because the first player to attack gets punish.Originally Posted by Gnawing Rat Go to original post

Light deflect will always succeed if you're good. There is no trade off.The deflect+R2 is too slow most the time and the deflect+R1 can lead to trades or you being gaurd broken.
Nah, the issue is that the Orochi has too many advantages. They aren't a glass cannon at all. Put two equally good players together and the one with the Orochi will win. I've been play testing for longer than this closed alpha.I would say the Orochi is over used which will lead some people to believe it's over powered.
When you play as an Orochi, it certainly feels fair; the other characters are more balanced (beside the Berserker, which also needs his deflect tweaked--but he's almost equally as OP). It's when you are the opposing player that it feels awful. I've been dueling all day and the only annoying enemies I fought was an Orochi abusing all forms of advantages. I won't say any names, but one guy relied solely on deflect, so it took us about 10+ mins to complete the duel. Another guy focused on both deflect and storm rush > up attack combo. That one took a while because he could be as defensive as he wanted. My first and only real duel against someone who was good (about 15 mins ago) was an Orochi and it was pretty damn good because he only used deflect once and storm rush twice throughout. We were equally matched and he knew he could have beaten me if he just went defensive, but he knew it wasn't right and in the end, I praised him for it.I've lost fair and square to all classes. OK, so after playing all the characters extensively i can see why you may come to the this conclusion. But i don't think that saying samurai as a whole are op, is doing the situation justice. Kensei is a very well balanced character imo. He has long range with a medium attack speed. Kensei can be easily interrupted with a guard break during his attacks or a light attack. This will throw him off and force him into a defensive stance.
Orochi on the other hand is a lethal weapon. Orochi is meant to be a high skill character which is all about countering at the right time. unfortunately due to his high dps and attack speed and movement speed. it seems people are just forming gank squads with him.
I do not believe limiting characters to one per squad in a game will be beneficial however. It would take out a lot of the fun aspects of the game and ruin it for some.
Instead i have a simple solution.
Firstly, orochi needs a slight reduction in movement speed. NOT a large one by any means, he is meant to be a fast and agile character so he should be able to escape from combat easier than others.
Secondly, he needs a basic damage nerf which applies to his light and heavy attacks. However, to compensate for the low damage i think that whenever Orochi counters an opponent he should get a damage buff on his next hit. This would make him what he was meant to be all along. A high skill character.
And finally, i don't believe any change should be made to his attack speed. If you cant keep up then your reaction times to slow.
