    reward and progression

after some battle, i did notice something that feel bad. the reward of the different mode.

first point the fact that vs ai and vs player reward the same thing is nice. but the trouble is the amount rewarded.

a dominion is rewarded 10 steel
a brawl is reward 6 steel

one upgrade of stats cost 3 steel per item
a change of appearance of the item cost 250 steel

the different pack of scavengeing cost between 300-700

and here lie the trouble, the reward is too weak.

first you are not even sure to get a loot at the end of the battle. plus the fact that everything cost you tons of match for get something. and it lead to the point that some people will feel like they don't progress and will feel un rewarded for the time spend into the game.

30 dominion for get 1 scavenge of 3 item is too weak... far too weak.

why game like overwatch and such are played mostly because the reward come in less of 10 match...

i feel it's needed for the release to increase a lot the gain in reward for the different mode. make the loot rare and very hard to get is frustrating not rewarding. and when a player is frustrated they don't play for long to the game.

    I agree but...

i see the comparison with overwatch but only for the customisable stuff, whilst it should take longer because they give stat boosts the amount more is too much i think... plus recruiting a character only costs 500 when it should probably cost more based how much scavange packs are worth

the goal is not to make stuff hard to obtain, it's pointless, it's avoid to create a frustration for the player.

play 30 dominion for obtain only 3 random item is kinda too long. a point to note, at the release we will have 12 hero possible, if it take ages for equip even one hero, people will really don't play the game. sincet he progression will be far too long.

plus i can see already the microtransaction for purchase steel for real cash, what don't bother me....when we have the option to earn new stuff in a decent time, what is not the case right now.

quite honestly I agree. I feel that the devs should take a page from blizzard's book, and allow random drops of steel and increase the steel rewards/decrease the cost of using steel. that being said, I have a hunch that it's not the dev's choice to implement steel at all, or stat increases. it seems like an artificial way to keep players interested. Game is fun, customization and grinding for steel, isn't.

Wait for it!....... *snaredrum* .... Micro-transactions incoming to For Honor progression near you!

if you can buy steel for real money later and they keep the progression system like it is now, that would be a dealbreaker. i don't mind paying real money for heroes and looks but better gear is a no go.

This 1000% All the current system and rate of Steel drops screams to me that they are going to micro transaction the hell out of this game. Sad that Ubi is the only big publisher left doing this kind of MTs and turns off players.

Honestly, I agree with everything said thus far, and without completely modifying the current game's reward system, the best answer would be to up Steel to an actually usable amount, considering the reward rate for what you're using it for is relatively low. I shouldn't have to play non-stop for 24 hours to equip one character out of 12 with moderately alright stuff, particularly considering it's at least 50% cosmetic. Compare this to another game that Ubi made that has microtransactions available for competitive multiplayer, Rainbow Six Siege.

On average, without spending a dime, you get roughly 1000 currency per hour. For For Honor, you get 40 currency per hour. R6S makes it obtainable to unlock characters with reasonable time to currency values. For Honor basically says you need over 10 hours of gameplay for one character baring contracts. That really seems a bit much.

Solution suggestion? 100 steel for dominion for a win, 50 for a loss. For brawl and duel, 50 for a win and 25 for a loss. At that rate, you will average a character unlock in about an hour, or one weapon/armor pack for the same amount of time. 7 games of dominion for a premium pack seems pretty reasonable, considering the drop rate of one of those packs is at least on par with a loot chest from Overwatch (I got yet another set of common arms! fml).
