Where I was struggling in the TT, I am quite happy with the overall kb/m controls.
Except for with blocking still, that remains a gamble whenever you try.

Honestly its quite opposite on my side.
I am really struggling with controler, but only thing i play with controller is ProEvolutionSoccer (it was only reason i bought it)
Playing with 2 controller sticks going for L1/2 R1/2, and x,a,b,y seems so unnatural and complex, especially 2 sticks (never had that problem in a ProEvolutionSoccer, but now i am playing it for more then 10 years)

On the other hand playing with WASD + Shift, Ctrl and Alt in one hand, and 5button mouse in other feels natural.
I must say i am 50% better player with Keyboard and Mouse then controller.
Call it a 15 year old FPS and RPG heritage, also i dont own console.

I cant say anything bad about Key and Mouse controlls for now, nor do i have any idea on how to improve it, at least for this moment.

well just go play warden, and play like 20 duels vs actual players... you will see at which point the mouse blocking starts to fail, especially vs raider, conqueror and orochi... like on a certain skill lvl, it feels like you have no chance with mouse. ANd I say that while I play 99% of the time with keyboard + mause and am untrained with the gamepad... as soon as I use the gamepad of my friend, I only need like 5 minutes to get into it, and then I see big results from it, like really with an x-box controller my winrate skyrockets, where with keyboard and mouse I hardly win a duel.

Maybe it will be simpler if you move all the buttons close to each other?

I'm pretty sure that mb4/5 isn't used by default by the game; and tab,q,e, z, x, c, and f are all close the the good old WASD (I would personally prefer using "x" over "space")

One of the most frustrating action games on PC I've ever played due to the mouse blocking system for the most part. It's very awkward to me, and feels sluggish/unintuitive.

This is a controller game and I'm not experienced enough to use one nor am I interested in learning.
It's quite realistic really: in all my years of competitive fencing I didn't take on multiple opponents for obvious reasons. History shows that heroes engaged in single combat - the clue's in the title. Groups of combatants fight other groups with the more disciplined usually winning.
I like everything else about this game, the look, the music and the whole concept, but I'm not a console user.
I'm not saying it's impossible and plenty who will no doubt comment will deride my ineptitude, but I'm a casual gamer who plays for relaxation, not a pro with hours to spare.
I'm deeply disappointed that this game may not be for the likes of me, which is a shame because I'm well off and a potentially good revenue stream!
I haven't completely given up and might try some alternative keys to make up for my maladroitness.
To end on a positive note: I would leave the Mouse Key pattern as is with a single change key added to WASD to dodge or roll out of the way of multiple enemies.

    All of this, +1

I'd just like to add that I think the art and level design team did a fantastic job. The game looks really great. It just doesn't feel like the gameplay was meant for PC/m&kb players.

Also love the amount of customization available. That was surprisingly nice.

Well I was pleasantly surprised at how intuitive I found the controls. I don't actually know what I feel more comportable using. Controller or Mouse for blocking. To be honest I found myself reacting a lot faster to quick changes in attack direction with the mouse. And yes, I agree it feels like the system was made for console/controller players but it's not more complicated than Shadow of Mordor for example, so I don't know what some people are complaining about.

Yes it's a hard game. Yes, you have to get used to it. I was not bad with a controller, but I am way better with keyboard + mouse to be honest, so I can't complain.

I agree the game looks fantastic. The graphics and game-play are wonderful but when it comes down to the combat, using the mouse to block is very ineffective. I know this game was developed with a console-style controller in mind and rightfully so since most of the players will be using those platforms. I just wish they give us the option to use an alternative guard system such as the RMB on the mouse when blocking.

I must say in the first alpha I participated in I had a tough time using the mouse to block.

Now after a second alpha, there were very few occasions where I thought I might have messed up my guard due to micro-movements of my mouse.

The controller I find inferior for everything except guard direction, as the buttons require you to move your thumb off the right stick to use throws or dash/roll. Also using R1+R2 as an input to area attack seems like a design faux-pas.

I believe this game might be best played with a joystick + keyboard. Except you might want the joystick to not be a large vertical bar that you grip, but instead a wide, rounded shape that you palm. Your fingers are responsible for Light, Heavy, Guard break and Feint, while you push your whole hand left right or up a little to declare directions.
