    Known Issues

    PC

    Connectivity & Online Issues

    [Crash in-game] Random crashes

    • This is a Technical Test therefore players might experience random crashes throughout the game.
    • Workaround: Re-start the game.

    [Uplay PC] Disconnection & Soft Freeze
    • Disconnections were reported most often during the loading of a multiplayer match or at the end of a multiplayer match.
    • Error Code: 1088431700, 3397432595, 1694332663, 2904484995
    • Workaround: Re-enter the matchmaking flow or re-start the game if needed.

    [Uplay PC] Group Issues
    • We are aware of a few occurrences where one member of the group gets into game while the other remains stuck in matchmaking.
    • Workaround: Depending on which screen the player is stuck at, try backing out into the main menu or restarting Uplay.

    [Uplay PC] Mixed Regions Group Issues
    • While supported, mixed regions group are not recommended at this time (i.e. players from North America and players from Europe in the same group) as they could experience connectivity issues.
    • Workaround: Preferably only invite friends from the same region.

    [Uplay PC] NAT Type Group Issues
    • In order to matchmake successfully, a player with Strict NAT must only group with Open NAT types. This also means that a player with Strict NAT must not group with another Strict NAT for matchmaking to succeed.
    • Workaround: There is no workaround for this issue.

    [In-Game] Recovering Gameplay State
    • ’Recovering Gameplay State’ would flicker during the actual gameplay and occasionally result in a crash during gameplay.
    • Workaround: If moved back to main menu, please restart the matchmaking flow.


    Bugs & Glitches


    [Bug / Glitch] Process Still Running After Exiting

    • After quitting the game, processes might still running in the background
    • It is possible that after quitting the game, the For Honor process is still running.
    • Workaround: access to the task manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Next, right click on the process For Honor and end the task. Then you can restart the game without problem.

    [Bug / Glitch] Mute / Unmute pop-up message stays on the screen
    • While muting / unmuting players in the social page, the Mute/Un-mute pop up stays on the users screen and the game gets stuck. The pop up cannot be confirmed or cancelled. User needs to reboot the game.
    • Workaround: This is a known issue. If this occurs, quit and restart the game

    [Bug / Glitch] The worldmap might not be displayed after quitting a game
    • The worldmap might not be displayed after quitting certain game modes.
    • Workaround: If this occurs, please restart the game.

    [Bug / Glitch] Voice Chat Not Working / Low Performance
    • Voice chat might not work on some configurations (Example: Person A and B can hear each other but C can't hear A).
    • Would be great to have some info from players experiencing the issue.
    • The quality of the voice chat depends greatly on the computer performance and its associated internet connection.

    [Bug / Glitch] Alt+Enter not working during online matches
    • During online matches, desktop notifications may get the player out of fullscreen. Alt+Enter is disable during online matches.
    • Workaround: If it occurs, please use borderless fullscreen instead.

    [Bug] Infinite loading of “Contacting servers” message
    • Users who have installed the Ubisoft Cub app for the first time to link their Uplay account and play the Alpha may see an infinite “Contacting servers” loading.
    • Workaround: Re-start the game.

    [Bug / Glitch] Second peripheral bug
    • Computers that have 2 peripherals plugged at the same time (for ex. 1 Xbox Controller and 1 Steering wheel) may prevent the game from running properly.
    • Workaround: Unplug second peripheral from your computer.

    [Bug / Glitch] Cannot quit the game / Game is frozen
    • On rare occasions, users might not be able to quit the game.
    • Workaround: Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to open the Task Manager and close the game manually.

    [Bug / Glitch] Opponent’s level displays 0
    • When killed, a user can see the opponent’s level displays as 0 on the lower right window.
    • Workaround: This is a known issue.

    [Bug / Glitch] Nvidia error message
    • The game can occasionally crash because of Nvidia driver instability.
    • Workaround: This is a known issue and the dev team is investigating it.

    [Bug / Glitch] Skylake integrated GPU
    • The game can crash when playing with an Intel Skylake integrated GPU.
    • Workaround: This is a known issue and the dev team is investigating it.

    [Bug] Key mapping screen (Stance left, Stance Up)
    • Two stances in the key mapping screen are named incorrectly.
      “Stance Left” which should be labelled “Guard Left”.
      “Stance Up” which should be labelled “Guard Up”.
    • Workaround: This is a known issue and the dev team is investigating it.

    [Bug] Emblem editor
    • You cannot use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate between the outline category and the grid of available options”. Also, while viewing the Emblem in the ‘Preview All screen’, the ESC button in the Legend does not function with Mouse/Keyboard.
    • Workaround: This is a known issue and the dev team is investigating it.

    [Bug] Exclusive Fullscreen
    • Exclusive Fullscreen is not available via the options menu, but can be activated using options.ini if needed. To enable Exclusive Fullscreen, do the following:
      Open your options.ini file (this can be found in the 'For Honor' folder located in your documents folder: [username]\Documents\For Honor), Change EnableExF=0 to EnableExF=1, Save your file and restart the game.
      This is a temporary pre-emptive measure for the Alpha to ensure your gameplay experience is not disrupted by notification windows minimizing the game/Keyboard.
    • Workaround: This is a known issue and the dev team is investigating it.

    [Bug] Game modes remain locked
    • All game modes (Duel, Brawl and Dominion) will not unlock even after completing Private Match. The Private match option also appears to be locked.
    • Workaround: You can play the game modes after clicking on the play button.

    [Bug] Disappearing Mouse Cursor
    • The mouse cursor will disappear if you open the Uplay overlay using the Controller and close it using the mouse. It will also disappear if you open the Uplay overlay before reaching the main screen.
    • Workaround: This is a known issue and the dev team is investigating it.

    [Bug] Kicked for Inactivity

    • While playing Brawl with friends, you may be kicked for inactivity while spectating teammates.
    • Workaround: This is a known issue that happens if inactive, pressing any buttons should prevent it.

    Console (XB1 and PS4)

    General Issues

    [Alpha keys] In some instances, the confirmation email with the alpha key is either not received, or blank, despite going through the validation process on the alpha website.
    • Workaround: The following webpage shows all the game keys allocated to your account: Key Retrieval

    [XB1] Users cannot log in and play if their console privacy setting for “Share content” is deactivated for multiplayer.
    • Workaround: Sharing content privacy, located under "Xbox Live privacy" > "Safety account settings" > must be set to «everybody»

    [XB1] Error is received when attempting to join a match after the console went in sleep mode due to the Instant-on power feature.
    • Workaround: Close the title, sign out of the current Xbox account and sign in again. User can also ensure that their XBOX ONE is set to ENERGY SAVING as opposed to INSTANT ON. This can be changed in the POWER MODE AND STARTUP settings.

    [XB1] Menu and Control Input Lag. Users may encounter occasional input lag when navigating through the menu system and during battle scenes.

    [XB1 & PS4] Users cannot access gameplay without an active and linked Uplay account.
    • Workaround: Ensure that you login with the same Uplay account that the download key was sent to.

    [XB1 & PS4] Users with an "IP v6 only" network address cannot connect to the game. The following error message will display: “Only the Leader of a group can go into matchmaking”.
    • Workaround: Play with an IP v4 (standard) network address or a hybrid v4 v6 network.
