    Mouse Controls

We are looking forward for your feedback on Mouse Controls.

This post will explain the mouse sensitivity settings which are crucial to your success as a Warrior!

The Mouse Sensitivity is broken out into 2 areas: Camera and Stance.

    Stance / Guard Sensitivity
Controls how quickly you change Guard direction (stance), from a range of 0-20, with 20 being the most sensitive.

The more sensitive you set it, the smaller the movement required to change stance. Be careful not to make it too sensitive as even the slightest movement at the end of your motion could trigger an unwanted stance change.

    Camera Sensitivity
Controls how quickly the camera moves when OUT OF LOCK / NOT IN GUARD MODE, from a range of 0-10, with 10 being the most sensitive.

Please note: When you are locked on a target there are no camera controls.

    Mouse DPI (sensitivity)
The game was tuned with a mouse DPI setting of 1200.

If you’re more of a twitch player, and use small mouse movements you should consider increasing the sensitivity. Conversely, if you make large motions when playing with a mouse, you should consider decreasing the sensitivity. The game provides enough of a range to suit all users.

If you are using a mouse with a DPI setting higher than 1200, you should consider lowering the sensitivity setting in-game. At the extremes, a mouse with 9000+ DPI may be way too sensitive and you should lower the setting on the mouse first, then tune the in-game sensitivity.

    What is mouse DPI?

DPI means Dot Per Inch. In theory, if a mouse has 1600 DPI, then, if you move your mouse one inch (2.54 cm), the mouse cursor will move 1600 pixels.

The higher the DPI, the more sensitive the mouse is. That is, you move the mouse even a tiny bit, the pointer will move a huge distance across the screen.

Different mouse have different DPI, and we also have different screen resolution, and different operating systems and games interpret mouse signals differently. All of the above effect the optimal DPI setting.

I guess there is no good way to do M/KB controls in For Honor, but the current way of selecting stances with the mouse doesn't feel very natural.

Mouse and keyboard controls are just bad, I hope Ubisoft warns PC players that a console style controller is recommend if not required to play the game. If they don't they will upset an entire gaming community.

The DPI and mouse setting have very little to do with how terrible (and I don't use that word lightly here) the KB&M controls are.

I am finding blocking to be very very difficult to accomplish, I am just getting slaughtered. I hope this can be improved upon. I won't buy it if this is not improved upon, I really want to like this game but can't even get out of training because I can't block.

    Hi,

The keyboard control is good but I had a lot of problems with the mouse visual/combat system arrangement. The problem may be worse when you have 2 Player opposite to control Whit the mouse you have to change the view and select the defense position....

I'm sorry because the game is very good, but i think i'm not sure to buy the game if the control are like this....

if you lower the stance sensitivity to 0 it makes a huge difference how easy it gets to block an opponent, even 3v1 is no real struggle anymore.

my mouse is set to a 3000 DPI, no acceleration and set to 3rd mark on left in windows control panel, mouse options.

anyways, setting the stance sensitivity to 0 made a huge difference. maybe lowering DPI even more will make it easier to block / switch stances.

I will say at first the PC controls (Keyboard & Mouse) were extremely tricky and after the practice round & my first pvp encounter i switched to a controller. The controller made learning the game much simpler and a lot easier to actually be competitive.

However now that i've played with the controller a while and have learned 90% of the mechanics i'm switching back to keyboard & mouse as i'll have more control and will be able to be more precise.

    controls

the curreny control with mouse and keyboard aren't easy. Especially the middle mouse button is tricky. Also dodging by giving the direction with the mouse isn't Obvious.
I guess it should be possible to make controlling the caracter more easy.

In the future, PLEASE make Guard Sensitivity of 0 actually have zero effect on the guard stance.
