When did video games become real life, and when did it become so serious?
So what if some players want a PvE only DZ, how does it change your experience of the game? You will still have a DZ with PvP, you will still have players that want to PvP, my guess is you like the non PvP players who are not equipped to take you on, why else would you complain?
I genuinely cannot see a valid reason not to have one, if this is what players want and they will have fun, then let them have it.
It's worked with other games that have optional PvP, GTA is the one that comes to mind, they had different servers depending on your play style, hell you could even go into the PvP server and turn on a no kill mode!! And that game and online is a HELL OF A LOT MORE successful than The Division.
If you want to go with this analogy above, and LETTING people take your stuff, then you are completely mistaken, I am pretty sure that the ones complaining about the DZ and the Rogues are not just rolling over and giving the rogues their stuff, they just don't stand a chance at beating a team of better equipped players.
It's like me coming at you with a gun and all you have is a knife, I shoot you and you're dead, then I say "why did you let me take your stuff?" I was better equipped but you tried your best.
1) What are you worried about OP?
2) Are you scared it's going to ruin the game? Too late, the game is already failing, so much so that Massive have said so themselves and invited players to tell them how to fix the game, that very rarely happens,. which MUST MEAN that the current game is no good.
3) Please tell me how a PvE only DZ would change the game for you?
4) Do you win or earn something on this game that actually matters when you turn the game off, and can ONLY be earned by PvP?
You are the reason why there is so much hate and animosity from the PVE players towards PVP players. You sound very ignorant in this post.Originally Posted by rlingman4 Go to original post
Nah... He is just the worst type of person I try to avoid irl and in games as much as possible. The ME ME ME guy that thinks only his opinion matters. Makes my guts spin around.Originally Posted by savill81 Go to original post
I just don't quite understand the attitude, if I could genuinely see a negative effect this would have on the game for all players then I would agree with him, but I just cannot for the life of me see how this would effect anybody by having both a PvE and a PvP DZ for players to choose.Originally Posted by LonigusEze Go to original post
So he must just be this selfish little git who does not like to share, must be an only child.
The only group of players that like the DZ are the bored kids that have all stuff maxed and go to the DZ only to gank and find easy prey. The moment they would be forced to PVP against similary geared people their fun would end.Originally Posted by savill81 Go to original post
It was said many times already.Originally Posted by savill81 Go to original post
some people are against a pve dz alternative because that would mean pve player will stop go in the dz. So for the pk and gankers that mean less easy target because they will fight only other pk and gankers
I agree with this statement, this has been the DZ since the start, and unless you have a similar amount of time to get proper Min/Maxed gear then you will never be able to compete with these players, and I personally think they love it, and they want it to stay this way.Originally Posted by LonigusEze Go to original post
I have also noticed that it is the same people who complain when other players say they want it to be easier to get the good gear, as again this would mess with the economy of the game, and would further close the gap between the us and them, the haves and the have not's, it would level the playing field too much, and their easy ride would end.
Well, I didn't want to say this, as I was hoping that there would be a more mature answer, but from the attitudes of these players and the answer they give, this can be the only logical answer to the question.Originally Posted by Karamasov445 Go to original post
I have tried to come up with a possible answer that doesn't make these players sound so childish, but I am inclined to go with this as the only reason.
If I am, and others are wrong the please rlingman4 tells us where you are coming from, and help us to understand what it is that you mean.
Yep, that was the point I was trying to make. A brief check on people that are against more loot and easier NPCs have tripple the amount of hours spent in the game then I had with average up to 8 hours of playing the game DAILY. Which adult person with a family and a job can afford to spend 8 hours glued to the PC/console?Originally Posted by savill81 Go to original post
The beta was the biggest fun in the DZ and partially in the first few weeks after launch where the amount of "normal" or "Casual" players outweighted the gankers and trolls. It was really fun to PVP against less geared ppl alone or with a friend 2 vs 4 where I actually could survive for more then a few seconds and with the right skill combo kill them fast. Then I came back to Division a few weeks ago and after going into the DZ, the first think I see is a group of 4 rogues hunting a lone player across DZ 3...
It was the Closed and Open Beta's that sold me and my friends on this game, the whole game during that period was a lot of fun, every aspect of that game felt like a well thought idea and premise, then you hit level 30 on the full game and it just changed, it really is just too much of a grind for your standard gamer.Originally Posted by LonigusEze Go to original post
The thing that does make me laugh the hardest though, is when you mention the fact that you have a life outside of games and that you have a family and friends, and significant others, all of which take time to keep going, they laugh at you like you are the ones with the problem, sorry dude, but I enjoy all aspects of life, games are not my be all and end all in life like it is theirs.
But you are right, you cannot possibly play 8-9 hours a day, for everyday since the game was release, and have a full time job, and a family and a social life, and get a decent nights kip, something somewhere has to give, of course though if you talk to these people online, they are the ones who can do it all, I would love to meet some of them in real life, I am pretty sure that they don't do what they claim, but sit indoors all day playing games.
Why not a hardcore DZ for those players w0hu do have time for the challenge? And leave us to it, surely a challenge is better than easy prey?
it is a perceived negative.. the perception being, no one would be left in the PvP zone. in reality,i think it is the opposite. those looking to prey upon lesser players wouldn't go to the PvP only zone, leaving only the more advanced PvPers looking for good, engaging PvP action.
Even honest PvPers have a hard time knowing if they are engaging someone who wants to engage in PvP. As tempting as it is to engage in PvP, i dont because i dont know what kind of player I am engaging. But you can bet your a$$ I run strait to the rogues on the map. aint no question what those dudes are looking for.
but to be fare, there needs to be equal but different rewards for choosing a PvE DZ over a PvP DZ. if it is simple loot, then it would be difficult to still get a fulfilling PvP experience..
honestly, it wouldn't take much to tip me into the PvP only category. hell, i would do it just for titles and custom skins.
Survivor = last x amount of time in the DZ without being killed
Hunter = kill x amount of rogues
Martyr = Die a lot
Tenacious = Die a lot in the same area
Vigilant = Kill x amount of players without being seen (may not be possible to track)
Hawk-eye = Kill an enemy, unassisted, in two shots or less.
the possibilities are endless.
anyways. on a side note. the level 29 DZ is a ghost town. constantly and consistently vacant of any other player. it is, for all intent and purpose, a solo DZ. I have only seen two rogues and it was once and they were running together. in all the time it took me to get to DZ level 31 in the level 29 bracket, i dont ever remember seeing anyone else.
