Should there be a toggle to turn realistic gore on or off? Obviously I'm not talking about over the top anime style blood but we are hacking each other with swords & cracking skulls, etc. This game is going for a fair amount of realism & realistic gore would only improve that and add to immersion. Not everyone wants that so a simple toggle to turn it off/on would please both sides.
Well I suppose if the receiver has gore toggled off then they wouldn't see it.Originally Posted by Willaguy2010 Go to original post
It's interesting that people would be against a toggle. If you don't want it you can simply turn it off and those of us that do want it can have it turned on.
That's what I keep saying.Originally Posted by Willaguy2010 Go to original post
The actual amount of blood that comes from any of the wounds (excluding executions) one player can inflict on another isn't enough to spray another person with an arterial fountain.
In fact, if you want a realistic damage model, then the Knights (aside from probably the Peacekeeper) wouldn't be bloody at all, because the armour wouldn't suffer the fissures rent into it in present in the game. The most they would have in the way of physical evidence of being in a fight would be dents in their helmet or pauldrons.
The same would largely be true of the Samurai.
There's enough blood there to get the point across; it doesn't need too much more if they make any adjustments. That being said, I voted yes, because people should be able to turn it off if they want no gore at all.
