Ranked & Clan system hopes and dreams
Since this game was brought to my attention while watching E3 2015 Over in Anaheim Ive been paying very close attention to its development.
Unfortunately when I signed up the alpha & beta I made the poor decision or choosing ps4 as my main console so I havent had an opportunity to test the game myself so everything Im going to say or suggest is simple speculation.
With that being said Ive noticed some players on the forum with " Top Player " banners so I sincerely hope they have included a very well thought out Ranking system but no one has quite been able to confirm its depth for me.
My hope is that within this game will be a system similar to the likes of the old Halo 2 days where not only did your level play a major role in whom you would be matched against but would also maintain countless close matches and memorable battles.
Some of you may remember this system way back in the day when Halo 2 first came out Bungie had built a fantastic Stat tracking system / matchmaking system that kept skilled players playing against other players of equal skill round after round while the very best players would be at a constant battle to be the highest level team in the game all without even getting near the level cap
A system where your level is not only a bragging right as only few players ever even reached high 20's and even fewer hit 30's but if you did everyone knew when they saw that number that someone serious had joined.
I fear that if this game implements a simple leveling system like COD eventually the skill line will blur and players will end up playing a repeat of pointless matches that wont challenge them at all.
The coolest thing about the way Halo 2's system worked was that the same people that happen to be in that very small group of talented players sitting at the highest level would also be the exact same teams playing eachother in the finals at every MLG match. Every time you logged in to play Head to Head ( 1v1 ) or even 4v4 Slayer as a clan or playing alone you knew you would be teamed up with players of similar skill and the game would be like you had entered a tournament right from your living room.
With any luck For Honor will once again bring back an amazing system that will leave us competition players constantly asking for more. I fear without a proper system like this the game wont last as long as we all hope as a new form of Competition Gaming
