pretty sure i've seen it mentioned in a number of interviews with the devs that they tried more than 4v4 but it doesn't work, or is "hectic". This video was posted the other day - https://youtu.be/CRdmTyHenSM?t=126 (2mins in). btw - loving Jason Vandenberghe - just exudes enthusiasm in every interview :-)
This has been discussed before (here, here, and here specifically), and the general opinion here is that its not a good idea---as evidenced by the posters above---for a variety of reasons. Latency and the loss of combat intimacy/probability players would be more likely to roam in groups being the main ones.
I don't remember who it was or which thread it was in, but someone suggested that increased player counts could be balanced out by adding more capture points. It's an interesting idea, and one I agree with, but doing that would also mean either placing additional points on existing maps---which I don't think would work because of how the maps are laid out, and the space between points is very good, as it adds a necessary 'dead zone' where players could encounter one another and make strategic decisions on whether or not to engage, how to engage, etc.---or designing new maps to accommodate for the aforementioned dead space between points.
what is the value of NPC's in a match and not just more people on bigger maps NPC's just get in the way and bring nothing to the game play except for confusion
that is the very thing that ruined Titanfall not enough players in a game and to many NPC's
and with there being items that make your hero's stats better mean the more you play the better items you get the better your hero is the worse the experience for newcomers
sounds just like the Division get in early play like an addict become over powered and ruin the game for every other person that can't just sit and play 10 hours a day everyday
so i would call this another swing and a miss ubisoft feels like every year use come up with good ideas and ruin the execution of it shame
this game looked like it had promise but upgradable hero's and tons of NPC's
don't make me feel like the game has any purpose for the more casual gamer that well just be left behind in term's of gear
sound familiar to (The Division) anyone
