The level of customization promised is already remarkable, but let's not stop there. I was thinking, since you might notice that some groups of minions on each team have slightly altered colors to match each players they're affiliated with--which you can see here, that we could perhaps take it a step further and customize them ourselves, just like our heroes. I know people are going to say that they're just mindless fodders and you probably won't care about it during the battle, but I think that adding some form of customization to them would make them feel more personal to us, and make us react to watching them die and try to get revenge and protect them. As they are now, they're basically just numbers to players.
The assets are already all there. There's a noticeable amount of variety to their equipment, such as armor, shields and swords. I think it's be cool if we can attach emblems to them as well.
What do you guys think? Maybe one of you can expand on this idea.
Not all Fodders are mindless!

Great idea, but straight away into the execution issue, did you envisage footsoldiers with 4 quadrants and each quadrant with the colours of the 4 heroes per group, or would you somehow middle the colours and represent them in another way. Or would you go for coats of arms of the players? Assuming that all factions have their minions, how would one balance that .....
If that would work, if a player dies, will his bit of the colours fade on the footsoldiers (eg. elimination games, yeah I am pushing it there....)?
I'm sorry, I don't really understand what you're asking here, so my apologies if I don't answer correctly. It would work like how it already has, except now the troops that color match each player would also change their equipment according to how each player customized them.Originally Posted by Patient_Fodder Go to original postDominion isn't faction restricted, so you'll see a lot of mix in there already. I think I get it now. What you are saying is that part of the minions will be based on the heroes. So 1/4th of the minions will look like the colours of player A, etc.Originally Posted by Fatal-Feit Go to original post
I thought you wanted to put all colours on the same minions. My imagination ran away a bit there I guess.
Yup I can see where you are coming from, good idea, not sure how easy it is for them to code though.
Each player has their own set of minions that matches their color scheme.Originally Posted by WildKelju Go to original post
It feels like this could all be future dlc or sequels if they were to do it, but why stop at just colours? What if you had boosters that could be applied to your minions that then affect their abilities at the front. With each hero applying a different booster it might really mix up the way a battle feels. What would they be though? Health, damage, speed, weapon types, fighting style? more offensive/defensive AI.. perhaps they follow you around, or be hero hunters to annoy the opposition, stay at a control point or on the fly designated rallying point?Originally Posted by Fatal-Feit Go to original post
lots of ideas for a pile im sure the devs have had added to over the years of work on this game :-)
Thanks for your support.Originally Posted by Illyrianslayer Go to original post
I said it a few times already, but basically, the game already gives each individual player their own waves of troops that matches their color scheme, as shown in the video. All I'm asking for is the option to customize them further.
