    Virus applications: Can't install or start the game -> Malware reports

    UNDER INVESTIGATION - Workaround Available

    • Issue: Can't install or start the game - various virus applications report "Malware detected"

    • Description: While launching or trying to launch the game various virus applications report 'Malware detected'. Players are therefore not able to launch or install the game.

    • Workaround: Adding the file CoA1.bin as an exception should help the players to launch and install the game.


    Support websites of antivirus applications provide step by step guides how to whitelist programms/files.

    The team is working on a solution for this issue.

    UNDER INVESTIGATION - Workaround Available

    • Issue: Blackscreen upon launch

    • Description: Some players experience a black screen while launching the game

    • Workarounds: At the moment we have three different workarounds for you, which should all have the same effect:

      1. Pressing “ESC” to skip the intro video, as the issue is caused by the video being rendered in a wrong resolution.
      2. Pressing “ALT” + “ENTER” to change to windowed mode
      3. Go to Documents -> CoA -> game.config and change the following settings
        Changed Fullscreen = 1 to 0
        Changed Borderless = 0 to 1
        Changed Maximized = 0 to 1


    The team is currently working on a patch to permanent fix the issue.

    • Issue: Unable to launch the game on Windows 10

    • Description: Players are unable to launch the game on Windows 10.

    • Workarounds: No workaround available at this time.


    04/03/20 - An update has been released to address this issue. The game can now be launched on Windows 10.
