Is Ubisoft going to drop the bomb with micro-transactions within the game like Rainbow Six Siege? You already pay like 60$ for the damn thing and they ask you to pay for more. That's ridiculous and an insult! If you want to make more money within a game then release another F2P game like you did with GRP but keep the micro-transactions out of a game that costs like 60-70$ to begin with!
Where that comes from ?
First of all for Siege people paid for the content they have at release -> the game.
Ubisoft decided to add more content that you can get with renown or by paying a fee if you don't want to play to gain the amount of renown to unlock the content. Other are only available by fee.
Now did Ubisoft force you to buy these content ? Don't think so ! These content are done by Ubi people and if Ubi want to get paid for those it's normal they worked for it.
Now you complain about microtransaction but doesn't people get a new map for free with the new operators ? Aren't those free for everyone a week after release ? Haven't Ubi people worked to do those and yet those are free.
Siege is a MP game axed for the new fps generation and as others fps games like this one the others games also have microtransaction like CS GO, Overwatch, BF4 etc....
Will this be same for GRW don't know, devs didn't talked about that with us so who knows but again why does it bothers you, again no one force you to buy for content they add that wasn't for release.
Don't get me wrong I prefer free content i'm from the old generation who know how it was when we had the SDK with the game and the modding community.
I can tell you this, they asked what we wouldn't like to see in the game and one of my answers was that I don't want to see microtransaction in game and if they decide to put this anyway, then i'd like them not to be only payable but let us choose to pay for it or unlock it with assignement or thing like that.
Rainbow6 has free maps, and Operators. If you want to pay for the season pass it gets you some small renown (the XP you use to unlock stuff) bonus and you get to use the operators a week earlier. The micro transactions are for cosmetic enhancements that have NO effect on gameplay. i don't use them and primarily bought the season pass in order to support the development of the game.
I guess, though, that if you have an axe you perpetually wish to grind then that's what you'll do. It's quite handy that are no specifics as you can just assume a reality and get indignant over your own assumptions for this game. I am totally against pay to win transactions, but if Wildlands follows the R6 model in that the paid for content is for nothing more than cosmetic items, slightly early access to new content and not much else then I'll be fine with it.
Wow, this is truly breaking news for me. Thanks op 😂 I think I wanna make a youtube video or something. Thanks for tipping us!!
How the hell can R6's business model insult you? No one forces you to purchase extra operators, or ridiculos looking headgear and weapon skins.. and none of it gives an advantage!
I play that game for realistic terrorist hunt only.. and anybody whos tried that, knows its not easy.. and mostly ends with a loss. At least when playing with randoms. Yet I still have all operators.. tonnes of silly looking gear, and 75000 renown on my account.
However, Siege doesn't really offer a lot of content in the first place, also considering the obligatory Terrorist Hunt and Situations to make it look like it has content. Even though I spent quite some time with the game, I don't think the content is worth €60-110 (!), so it's quite cheeky to have microtransactions. Though, I do like that it's just cosmetics or oh-you-want-a-new-OP-but-don't-have-enough-renown?-pay-real-money-to-get-faster kind of stuff, no Pay2Win. Nothing done wrong there.
I wouldn' like to have microtransactions in GRW because the game is all about authenticity, so I don't want to have to buy all the gun customizations/camos. Oh god, I might've given them a really bad idea there. I've blown it, sorry.
If people does not want to pay 45€ for a ubisoft game "I say 45€ cause pc games cost between 35€ & 45€ in games retailers" because you don't trust Ubisoft or else and some dlc or microsanction system they put in place, remember that Ubisoft always drop the price of they games after a while !
In June Uni proposed the Starter Edition R6S for 15$ ! So again no one force anyone to buy a game full price, if you can't wait for a price drop It's not Ubi's fault.
Full price at release yes but that price always drop after a time.

Instead, have a looky-look and see if hair has grown down there, don't have the spine of a gummy bear and do what most of us with brain do... wait to see whether you will like the game to order ir. Wait a little more if you think it has too many bugs and something needs fixing and then, you can do like me and many others... wait until the garbage bin special arrive (a few months after) to buy the game with all patches included.
As long as they don't charge for some DLC you must have to be able to finish the game or accomplished a mission they are withing their marketing right to bamboozle any one who can't think for themselves.
Or they could encourage the community to create some new skins (It works well with CS:GO and it's starting with R6S). But I don't want these skins to be in cases like CS:GO ... if you want a skin just buy it with the in-game money or with your real money (if you are rich and lazy to play) but not with gambling.
