    Destructible environments?

If anyone have played a Soulsborne(Nioh) game, they'd know how fun it is to dodge/roll over barrels/chairs/wheels/shields/crates/etc and watch them break while they're dueling. It's a small detail that feels awfully satisfying when physics are in the works.

I noticed the environments has a lot of these kind of things lying around and I feel like making them destructible when you swing or roll over them would add just a bit more to our immersion, as it makes the environments feel more real and has a bit more history to it during matches.

    Example at 18:50:

I think it would be a neat idea that would add some visually exciting ambiance but I'd also look at what that might cost in terms of performance.

There's a lot of moving things. Players, minions , at times feats, then to throw these destructible objects into the mix... I just feel it might have an effect in FPS.

So yes, while a cool idea, I just wouldn't compromise performance in a case of priorities.

I think it sounds like a GREAT idea, but i'm gonna go with yote224 on this one - there are a certain ammount of moving things that allready moves so it would take a bit from the performance,
what they could do however is add it in the 1 Vs 1 maps, like you could fight in a Viking tavern and smash/throw your enemy over mead filled tables and so on, then you would have a small map that could hold more moving objects without disrupting the performance

There is a part of me that would enjoy playing as a Berserker, grabbing a nearby chair, and smashing it over the head of another player. But as it I think they got enough on their plate as it is. What could be neat is maps with interactive components. Raising/lowering drawbridges or pushing debris off battlements to create alternate path routes.

I agree with this whole heartedly. I'm also going to make another post to expand this idea even further beyond what you've mentioned.

In one of the videos you see a warden running, and his armour is glitching through his "colours".
I'd rather have no further visual enhancements of the game and see these kind of glitches removed, than to possibly have more visual disturbances/inaccuracies.

So I am against it, but really only because of the resources it would take which could be used on different aspects of the game (maps, modes, glitch removal, "insert your item here").
