    Console Aiming & Strikers

    Striker 4 set Buff:

    Set Bonus (4):
    Talent | Shooter
Every consecutive hit deals 1% more damage. Stacks up to 100%. Missing shots drops bonus by 2%. Bonus is reduced by 1% every second.

I am finding it very hard to keep this buff up due to console aiming, when i watch p.c players they seem to get almost every shot hit with mouse (im assuming that is what they are using)

Close range is not so bad but that comes with a price when getting close to an enemy in heroic, at far range i can barely get the buff and if i do it lasts with a blink of the eye.

I thought it was maybe me having poor aiming so i asked my son to try striker and his very very good at the game and he said the same.

Don't know if this can be adjusted in anyway but it's a PITA.

    p.s This is with using PP19 & G36

    Anybody else have this problem?

Yes, pretty much everyone. Even on PC.

The 4 piece Striker bonus is widely regarded as useless for this reason. Very (VERY) few players can get and keep the bonus working in actual combat.

I'm on ps4 and use 5 piece striker with reckless chest piece, for my weapons I use an MP7 and an AK47 and I really don't have too much of an issue getting the buff up to 100%. Use stability mods on your weapons. I can drop lvl 35 elites ridiculously fast with that setup. Also don't understand why people try to make it seem like it's impossible to aim accurately on a console I've never had any problem with it.

I currently run striker on xbox one and i find it fairly easy to get the buff and keep it up by burst firing my AR from distance, with smart cover as well to buff up the base dps. And in close range smg or shotgun. Shotguns and marksman rifles will give you a bigger chunk of the buff. They do more damage outright so you're getting the buff faster.

Shotguns ramp the buff up faster because each of the 9 pellets the shotgun fires count as one shot for the bonus so if you are close enough each shell you shoot adds 9% to the bonus. I don't understand what you are talking about the damage MMRs do getting the buff up faster, damage has no bearing on increasing the striker buff, were you possibly confusing it with the tacticians buff?

Best way to use striker is to prioritize your shooting-

    Closest npc
    Npc in open
    Npc exposed by skill/ grenade
    Npc moving to new cover
    Npc behind cover

You want to use a high ROF weapon, I recommend LOVA or lightweight M4. The magazine should have ROF and magazine size. Every other mod should be stability, CHD and headshot dmg.You want the striker to proc, aim for body center mass. Get your 59 rounds in, then try going for head shots at 59 percent extra dmg. Or proc to 100 percent with more body shots. Don't be afraid to switch targets, speed is key there. I play on console also, it's a challenge to use but worth the learning curve.

This is a gun issue. If you use a gun with high spread and recoil then it's your fault. Pro tip: ACR (aka no-spread lasergun) and get the accurate talent on it. Put some 30% more firerate magazine on it and you're murdering everything.

I've been running Striker for a while, and getting it to proc properly can be really hard. My best advice?

Learn to burst fire. Short, three-round bursts so the muzzle climb doesn't lift you away from the target. A high RoF weapon will compensate for the loss when you're not hitting something as mentioned above.
Pick your targets. Don't be afraid to steal kills.
    Get a shotgun.
    Get a shotgun.
Get a shotgun. Why? Each pellet counts as a hit. One close range shell = multiple hits. I have a Showstopper for this very reason. Something gets too close, it gets hosed, and I get a full Striker bar.

I've also found tweaking weapon talents so you have Destruction and/or Ferocious is also useful, as well as recalibrating gear to increase armour destruction. My build has 75% armour destruction and 33% damage to elites. Even L33's go down quick once their armour bar is gone and Striker can be really useful in this role.

Once I can get Destruction on my Showstopper, that gun will be in a league of its own with Striker.

Nice, I'd love to see some vids of you guys getting and keeping the bonus in a uiseful way in combat.

Just guessing, but I dont think there will be any such vids.

My guess is that in reality, you guys who are good at it can maybe, maybe get 25-30% going and use it for a few seconds before losing it to whiffed shots and time not doing damage.

But please, post the vids. Your consoles record them all the time in the BG, all you have to do is save and post it.

EDIT: It occurs to me also that it is probably easier on consoles, since you get aim assist and snap-to.

I play on PC, I've tested striker and the 4x piece bonus is disappointing. You have to focus on accuracy and stability to be able to keep the bonus, and even this way if you aim for the head you'll lose everything really fast with high rof weapons.

I managed to keep consistent high bonus but only while aiming for the chest......... so no thank you, it's more efficient to spam sentry bonus with your first wave X-45 and then switch to your G36 and aim for the head.

IMHO they need to change it to lower / negate the penalt, something like : 0.5% bonus per shot without penalty for missing but -2% per second : you still have to hit to keep your bonus but it feels more efficient.
