In the PvP thread I sort of came to a realization that just really struck me. In addition to the silence regarding PvP, there's also been a very odd silence regarding the role of Red Storm and the development of Wildlands. Red Storm has been active producing little VR games like the werewolf game and the Star Trek game in addition to helping with The Division. They obviously aren't defunct so what exactly ARE they doing right now?
This silence is strange considering that Ghost Recon has been the one TC franchise traditionally that Red Storm has been able to hold onto in some capacity - with full development from OGR to SS, to the multiplayer suite development of GRAW to FS. Combine this with Ubisoft's recent trend of having multiple studios working on a single title and it just strikes me that we've only heard from Ubisoft Paris whom are coincidentally the people that have handled the campaigns of GR since GRAW. Is it merely a coincidence that we've seen and heard nothing about PvP then?
I ask you all what do you think Red Storm is doing in relation to Wildlands?
They were heavily involved in The Division and just made a Star Trek VR game. So not sure if they had available resources to make the MP component of GRW. After GRFS I am not sure I would want them to. But then again maybe they could relive past glories.
But I do agree it's very strange that there is no mention of PvP. Hell there isn't even mention of an end game component, which are shoe ins for large co-op games like this. Maybe they are keeping quiet because they want to announce something special for multiplayer. Or maybe they are just keeping quiet because there is no PvP and they are in damage limitation mode.
Its a bit strange that after getting the fans to be part of the feedback and marketing strategy, they have not been involved in any PvP feedback. To me that is worrying and suggests that there is no PvP at all. I will get the game as the concept is interesting but no PvP will be a sore miss.
I guess you know my thoughts on this. I don't think the Red Storm involvement with the game is related only to authenticity endorsements and an appearance at E3. I know it's wishful thinking on my part, but I think they are on it and that the delay has been to see what happens with Rainbow 6.
Thats my theory anyway and I'm sticking to it until we know otherwise.
I'm not sure how that's a marketing gimmick. We have been very open and honest about the development teams that have been working on Ghost Recon Wildlands. The development of Ghost Recon Wildlands is being led by Ubisoft Paris in collaboration with five other Ubisoft studios - Ubisoft Annecy, Bucharest, Montpellier, Milan, and Reflections Studios.
I just got the idea that RSE was working on it from the first trailers. I don't know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Originally Posted by UbiKeeba Go to original post
Yes they do but only for certains part of the game, like going to Bolivia taking pictures of the environment, talking with the specs force etc... all of it is a giant amount of work and done at the biginning of the development then transmitted to the Paris studio so they can make the maps, textures etc...
Don't forget that Red Storm is property of Ubisoft and Ubisoft decide who does what for they games.
They work have been done so now they are working on another project I guess.
