I highly suspect it will allow this only because of the amount of customization for players, plus 3rd person gives a more tactical view when sneaking or being stealthy. In fact, if you watch the gameplay, some people are playing in 3rd person, but when they aim down the scope on the marksman rifle, it is first person.
I am sorry... WHAT?????Originally Posted by MolonLabe0928 Go to original post
More Tactical View??? your definition of tactical sure is peculiar... unless of course by tactical you mean easier to look at the world around you unlike the real world we live in.
But to answer the OP's question... this won't happen any time soon for various reasons but they claim is better this way.![]()
Given as this is a authentic video game and not a realism simulator, 3rd person is acceptable as this game has zero basis in real life.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
That being said, 3rd person gives you a higher FOV and the ability to see your environment and how concealed you are in games like this, thus giving you the ability to have full understanding of your concealment and/or cover. It's also why I prefer cover mechanics to peak/lean. Nobody in real life leans or peaks out the way they make it in games, and cover mechanics tend to emulate authenticity better.
The point of view doesn't make a difference in the field of view tho. They are two different things.Originally Posted by MolonLabe0928 Go to original post
This discussion has been had so many times on this forum, but basically it boils down to personal preference. The main issue is that TPV gives way more information to the player than FPV and thus gives it the characteristics people are arguing over. That thing about peaking and leaning can be reversed too, nobody does those silly hollywood maneuvers when they're in a gunfight. Whatever.
I agree with OP but it's not happening. Devs went with a "hybrid" and they've probably already committed to it.
This is much more like the world we live in.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
As a human, if you have two functioning eyes, you probably have around 150 degrees of vision, and pick up tremors and subtle changes in sounds, pressure etc around you. You also instantly feel if someone's touching you.
A TV cannot replicate all those senses, so in order to give you something more like your real life senses in the game world, you get the 3rd person camera.
It's not realistic for peeking around corners, but for almost everything else, it's a much better approximation of your real life senses than simply a first person view at a 90-110 degrees FOV.
