How does anyone feel about having an immediate and direct threat from the downed opponent?
Succeed a QTE and you finish/execute the opponent. If they succeed faster they damage you; should that damage finish you off then you are revivable/unrevivable.
I still don't like it. I prefer a skilled duel where I am rewarded for a more difficult kill, rather than light attack pecking at someone only to waste time on a downed opponent or a buttonmash QTE. I want to be on to the next target or objective, and if I wasn't good enough or the situation prevented me from obtaining the execution then so be it, I don't get the added benefits.

I can't say I'm particularly fond of the idea myself but I've voiced my dislike for the idea so I'm now trying to think of a common ground type situation I'd be more ok with and that last bit SometimesITango mentions about being able to kill your attacker while being downed lead me to this idea.

What if it was left to you to initiate? Say, guard break an incapacitated enemy to initiate this counterable execution (I threw QTE in there as just an example of what it could be, but I can think of a few ways it could go) so the option to leave them downed is still there for people like you mentioning wanting to be on to the next target or objective. I think this could be kept dynamic by looking at a few things.
1.you could choose to pass the execution on to a friend who might benefit more from the kill
2.the downed player would be kept involved on paying attention to their screen while in this state as they could still be of use to their team
3.this would provide a very real threat/risk/reward situation for both the executee and executed, maybe faster respawn times for successfully making a last ditch attack?

I'm just entertaining the thought and throwing stuff out there.

This would also help you see when an enemy is trying to revive someone so you can stop them in time.
I do. I wouldn't mind if they even reused the animations from ACU for this. Both revive speed are about the same.

I think this would help an extra bit when it comes to immersion!

Hmm, that actually looks really well done. The animation even changes a bit depending on which angle you are reviving them from.

I also wouldn't mind if your chosen character made a little quip when reviving someone. Like a Warden would say something like, "Stay with me." whereas a Raider would be a bit more gruff and say something like "On your feet!". Character quips may not fit this game, though.

I am with Avarus on this.

Having a ground execute would make having a revive system pointless. Also it would make it pointless to try and save an ally whose about to be executed because someone could run right up and just execute them while you are fighting the guy that killed them.

Yeah, as much as I would love to see the cool animations they would come up with for the ground executions, I think it may diminish the importance of normally executing someone during actual combat.

But if they did add it in, I think making someone sacrifice a lvl 2 or 3 feat slot to acquire it would at least make it a little more rare.

I am also with Averus on this, it also makes the breaking point in dominion more meaningfull when you don't have ground executions. You have to make an effort to completely defeat your enemies to ensure victory.

I too 100% agree with Averus.

On different note I also agree with Voidrek. Having the hero that is reviving to say something motivating or witty would be extra cool. Something like "you can't die yet, you still owe me money' lol ecksdee XD

I think ground executions would be a good addition. You have to ensure that your opponent is dead before you fight another. It would be a pain if you downed an enemy, went to fight another guy, and the first one was revived to attack you from behind. With the guy who revived him.
