I really like Far Cry Primal esp. for getting away from all the modern stuff and going back in a fantasy prehistoric area. I really hope that they make a second one. I think a lot of things could have been built upon further. Upgrading your settlement could of went bigger and better with more skins, bones, stones and etc. There could of been a lot more people being brought in and see them upgrading themselves. There could be a lot more missions and objectives. I did like the freedom of how I could stalk and prey upon my enemies though I think that could be worked on a little better. Might give the option to climb and hide up in a tree or camouflage yourself with mud, leaves, grass or anything like that. Even could have war paint. I also think more traps could of been made for those of the small, medium and large beast. The herbalism and alchemy could also go a bit further as well as the perks, weapons, clothes and tools. Would also like a more vast open world even though this one was of a good size. Larger would be nice and more threats from other tribes. There are many other creatures that weren't present in this one so it would be nice to have a greater variety of creatures with environments. Also more to do with supplies even after you upgrade everything there should still be things it could be used for. I think also once you tame any animal the more you use that animal then the more they should naturally progress. Bone weapons, stone weapons, wood weapons, bone and stone weapons, bone and wood weapons, stone and wood weapons, stone and wood and bone weapons and there can be more variations making them better. Given opportunity to put poison on your weapon or add fire. Relationship perk that grows with the relationship that you have with an animal. Where they will fight harder giving an attack increase if your life is threatened or something. Also the relationships between you and the people don't feel mutual. Kind of kills the immersion as they only teach you stuff or allow you to upgrade after doing something for them and then there's really nothing else to do with them. They set you on a mission and there is no interaction with them. They don't even stand by your side in the final battles or any skirmish. I know it is about you and your beast but it is also suppose to be about rebuilding your tribe and they should just be able to be immersed a bit better. Guarding them on trails and freeing them was cool. The cave paintings and trinkets are alright. I enjoyed having my animals and skills to over take the encampments so hope to see more of those in the next one. Just a few things that were on my mind for the next possible installment.

Yeesh, throw a paragraph in there once in a while eh? haha.... Anyway, I think if the next, or the one after or whenever a potential FCPrimal2 came out, they MUST have coop in it. I was bewildered when they didn't have it in the first one! I think they should make the missions a bit more interesting. I think they could add an interesting (yet accessible & not overly convoluted) tribe management system. Deeper & more meaningful hunting mechanics/ systems would also add to immersion & believe-ability as well as more interesting story/ mission objectives....
Far Cry Primal has something, what I was missing in a lot of games - slow paced exploration which is just governed by the course of nature and it's wildlife. Too many games try to push the player into fast paced action too early in the game without to allow for some time to adapt to the environment. I like as well the many hud options and that they can be switched off or reduced. An example which is stressing me out is Watch Dogs, which is as well a Ubisoft game - that is information overkill on the hud and on top of it phone calls and other things - well, maybe that can be reduced as well, I haven't played Watch Dogs yet, but it is in my library, I will see if I will like it or not.
But it is a good example of why I like Far Cry Primal - it is immersive and with minimal hud it gives the "I was there" experience - which I doubt that Watch Dogs will be able to provide, the information overkill on the hud makes it a stressful game and disconnects from immersion - that is not what I am looking for - challenging is ok, but stressful is counterproductive. I play a game to relax and enjoy my leisure time, in contrast to real life challenges - there is stress enough, I do not need that in a game as well. Far Cry Primal is ideal to relax and still challenging. So I hope that a sequel will not break with this pace.
In short, FC primal is free-roaming at it's best - a game like Watch Dogs is more guiding you through the game, free-roaming is very limited. You have to run errands there, be guided from mission to mission, basically pushed to do those - that is how an open world game should not be done IMO. So I am not that much for more story in a FC primal sequel, I like the freedom I have in this one, I do not want it to be taken away and replaced by errand running.
What would be nice in a 2nd installment of the game to have would be a slider for the density of game (wildlife) in the world. I just tested non-survivor mode to see what that is like and I found that I need a whole lot more wood to get rid of the huge amount of wildlife around during the day compared to survivor mode. This is a bit out of place IMO, if one ever was out hunting in real life, one knows pretty well, that wildlife in this amount and so near to the hunter is unrealistic. Wildlife, which is prey is normally easily alarmed and runs away from the hunter and predators will as well not charge in from the far but first sneak near their target to ambush it or go in for a quick chase to take it down. But in non-survivor mode one has to be careful to not be overrun by the "shy" game, it is pretty much everywhere and to the most part it gives a damn about the hunter being around, what is really weird to see. It feels like having to wade through hordes of game before one can even think about being sneaky. I would love a slider, where I can adjust this to an amount, which I deem reasonable. In survivor mode it is too less wildlife, in normal modes it is far too common and everywhere.
Another strange aspect of it in normal modes is, why would a predator go for a somewhat skinny and eventually dangerous hunter, if there is so much game around, which is easy prey in an amount that even the biggest predator will easily find enough feed. Why would it even want to risk to fight something, what has fire and can control it in combat?- A predator would have to be extremely hungry to go for this, and that is highly unlikely with so much easier prey around.
Edit: This leads to the strange feeling that survivor mode is actually easier to play than non-survivor - less weapon break, less wood required. In those hours which I played survivor mode yet, I never had a problem to run out of wood, but in non-survivor this becomes an issue. And that feels wierd, especially because the amount of resources one gets from an item is reduced in survivor mode and still there is plenty available, while I basically exhaust a territory in non-survivor - maybe I am doing something wrong, but this is my experience so far.
Another thing which I experienced is that playing without the aiming aids and melee combat aids with disabled mouse deadzone and without reticle is so much more hunting fun, where my own skill with the bow matters. It has more failing shots at the beginning, but the bow becomes 2nd nature pretty quickly and it feels so much more satisfying to hunt without such cheat aids.
Why are those in the game in the first place?- This is a cavemen hunter and gatherer game, any kind of aiming aids should not be in the game at all. Same with the map and waypoints and stuff like this and eventually floating markers on the hud, this is so against the theme of the game, this should not be there in the first place - because this is all modern stuff, which cavemen did not have. I mean they painted on cave walls, on what would they have painted a map?
Hi Guys,
I've read a lot of interesting things/opinions already here. My top-most favourite game is still FC Primal. Basically I get caught by the era. Its superb.
For a second part of this game, a lot of suggestions couldn't be implemented, unless Ubi decide to separate this game from the Far Cry system, and develop it into another franchise.
That way more sofisticated elements could be implemented, This would be a long and time-consuming story I guess, but meanwhile (probably?), it could be easy to release another map as a DLC with myabe another hostile tribe venturing to Oros, competing us, or as the ice melts a new path opens up from the mountains to another, larger valey...
Anyway, I really hope Ubi will not abandon this fantastic game. Until that I keep stalking in the woods![]()
FC Primal is my favourite FC game.
Recently started playing it again. Thank goodness they added the SURVIVOR MODE (that so many of us requested!) -- it's the way the game is meant to be played!!
Kotaku agreed that SURVIVOR MODE was the way the game was meant to be played.
Chk the article - https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/kotak...1772298156/amp
It gave meaning to the hunting in a way previous FC games have never achieved.
It forced the player to engage with the games systems, making a much more meaningful and coherent experience!
Such an awesome game.
For a sequel I would love to see,
1) Dinosaurs!
2) the trap repertoire expanded. Something similar to the Forest, or Horizon Zero Dawn.
3) Melee system to be deeper, a block, and counter system!
