Game crashes when i die/restart checkpoint

I have tried contacting Ubisoft about this but to no avail.

Recently, probably the past 2 weeks, my game crashes every time i die, or restart from a checkpoint.

Not only does it crash, but my screen goes striped and it crashes my entire PC, sometimes with a deep buzzing noise.

I didn't have this issue before at all and haven't changed anything on my PC to warrant this sudden issue.

It also doesn't happen on ANY other games at all, literally just Far Cry 4.

It's doing my head in as no matter what i try it keeps happening.

    What to do?

check the Win event log for hints - striped screen usually is a hardware/driver problem. You got the latest driver installed? Also you can delete the GamerProfile.xml and see if that helps.

sounds like a bad ram stick .. yes .... they do go bad sometimes

could also mean your VID card is on its way out .. and yes they do also fail ALL the time .. i can't count how many i have had to replace over the years
and they always die right when the warranty on em Expires

if you have an Nvidia GPU try removing all Nvidia Drivers with DDU ..then try an older driver
i'm still running Nvidia driver version 359.06 from last year on my ASUS Strix GTX 960

all drivers past Jan 2016 gave me nothing but problems ..so i stuck with the last one from my card maker (ASUS)

tried the most recent drivers from Nvidia just last week .. had lockups in FC 4 and other games, and also problems booting to windows 10 .. went back to 359.06 my card performs perfectly
