Got when I bought my GPU as a code for uPlay.Originally Posted by RedRobin183 Go to original post
Weird thing though, I found something that fixed the issue for me...
Was sick of screwing around so went to uninstall everything again. Had done this by uninstalling uPlay and taking ACS off with it. This time, I clicked to uninstall ACS via the Win10 apps section and it logged me into uPlay and asked if I wanted to uninstall. Was about to click "yes" when I noticed that it started downloading again... it ended up finishing and can now be played.
Not sure if this will help anyone else, but I think it proves something is definitely messed up with the installer - it crashes just after the game can be "early launched" and I think it is bugged somehow.
sorry for my poor english....
support told me it is a dns issue and that try to connect to a different connection might fix the problem....
"Afin de pouvoir télécharger le reste du jeu, merci de tenter de vous connecter sur une connexion différente de la vôtre, par exemple, en partage de connexion avec un smartphone ou bien chez un ami. Le téléchargement devrait alors continuer une fois sur une autre connexion."
with google translation
"In order to download the rest of the game, thank you attempt to log onto a different connection of yours , for example, in connection sharing with a smartphone or with a friend. The download should then continue again on another connection."
that actually worked for me....
Interesting,
If it is indeed a DNS issue then ubisoft does offer a couple of suggestions,
https://support.ubi.com/en-US/faqs/000024748
They also mention resetting the hosts file which makes no sense at all to me, unless of course you have manually edited it the past.
I am glad you got your game working Sholiak, I still feel like this is an ongoing issue with Uplay, after thinking about this a little, I can remember a time when the only way to get anything to download/login was to add Uplay servers IP's to the hosts file.

95.140.224.199 static2.cdn.Ubi.com

I can't be bothered spending hours at the moment trying to get this game working again. It seems odd to me this only happens on this game, it also seems odd that the onus is on the customer to fix it. It's all very well saying it's our system fault and yet if the DNS was correct the first time this issue wouldn't happen at all. Just like it doesn't happen any where else, no other client, web page or server for me anyway. Come on Uplay, stop passing the buck and sort it out. You know it's true.
Edit* Digital download and gz to you too QuantumBinman, bit of luck there I think.
Glad you were able to get yours working. I tried this but it didn't help for me unfortunately.Originally Posted by QuantumBinman Go to original post
I've tried this and it didn't work for me. I've even tried changing my DNS settings to Google DNS.Originally Posted by Nethix Go to original post
EDIT:
I was wondering, could this have something to do with the Uplay client? I noticed that it's the 32-bit one by default, I was unable to launch the 64-bit one.
Apparently 7.37GB was enough to at least play the game, I tried it but it crashed as soon as I completed the first sequence. Also, I noticed that my fan is louder when I have the download running and quietens as soon as I close Uplay. I hope Ubi sorts this out, I was actually looking forward to playing Syndicate...
Thanks for trying to do this,
I was not looking forward to testing it. This has to be a server issue, the game is not downloading, the download stops at the same point for different customers. the client hangs and cannot be closed. I think I will just wait for Uplay to sort this out, as it's their latest release of the AC series it might not be that long. If anyone does come up with a way to fix this please post, it would be appreciated.
Edit* I notice that RedRobin is in New Zealand as am I, Sholiak is obviously French, makes me wonder. Does anyone have other uplay server IP addresses I could try adding to the host file? thanks.
I tried something new. I went to the install directory for Syndicate and added a 0 to the folder name making it "Assassin's Creed Syndicate0" then I opened up Uplay and clicked download. I managed to get a whopping 1MB before the download froze again. I've also tried port forwarding and it didn't helped.
Can we please have someone from support comment on this?
