One time i was so sure a TF video on youtube was somehow slower i took the stopwatch on my phone and compared with the clock on the video to see if time moved slower. It all matched though, time was the same in both (shocking i know ), but yea i can definately see this smoothness you mention even just by watching videos. I imagine emulators have this smoothness also.
