    1200 Expertiese Orbital Stations

    I want create a thread where players could find some examples of complete Orbital Stations with 1200 Expertise.

    Here is my Orbital station with:

    • 5 x Agriculture
    • 1 x Biotech
    • 3 x Electronics
    • 3 x Energy




    I chose the 5-1-3-3-0 configuration because i want to specialize my company in one with a huge population without Gas power stations or fusion reactors. I chose to have 3 Electronics labs for the Graphene production and because i think i can saturate my company without Kinetic micro-generator.

    I didn't save mine, for example, look at this setup:



    The Solar Cells in the middle give solar power to both Agriculture Chambers, as does the two Artificial-G Labs. Neither of the two Agriculture Chambers connect directly, so there's no heat-inflation there either (not as important for this particular workshop but critical for some others).

    This is the core of the philosophy to get the full 1,200 expertise. Double up on modules so you use less and avoid heat transfers from one workshop to another (or capitalize on it) to avoid having to use Radiators. You could take this further and make quadruple setups, saving even more modules, using longer Connector lines to reduce heat (but that also reduces efficiency).

    Some workshops are easier to double up on (I found Agriculture Chambers and Biotech Complexes to be the easiest), so play around with it if you're having trouble reaching this goal for the purpose of the achievement.

    Yep Umhal that is the logic to save modules. An advice for your station, you can delete the connectors betwin the A-grav and the Solar cell, Connectors not linked directly to a Laboratory are useless ^_^

    Does anyone have a setup of 2-4-3-3-0 starting from Agri ? i wanna create one, but simply can not hold my nerves trying to do so =)

    Indeed - that is how I have mine in use - letting two labs share a module (where feasible, of course). Getting to 1200 Expertise is what's hard, as you generally have to have at least 4 labs of each type AND five of at least two types to pull that off (I have done exactly that, and I have not been to Varnha Plains yet). No - I'm not anywhere CLOSE to being done (as I just said, I haven't been to Varnha Plains yet, nor as I maxed my Orbit-based unlocks regarding defensive unlocks, either - such as the Orbital Laser). ALL module types can be shared; there is no such thing as a non-sharable module. You can put Institutes anywhere - there are in fact, additional Achievements you can earn for just that (Annonaut, for example - is the Institute in every sector Achievement). More Institutes means more labs means a bigger Station means more Research means your corporation can REALLY grow. Wildwater Bay, for example, has a seriously LARGE peninsula on the right that can hold SEVERAL cities; I have one Institute per city. (The same applies to Varnha Plains, Cape Ambar, and even to Akia Floes - except with the last it's one Institute per Island. So far, only the Archipelagoes don't fit the mold - and that is due to the population requirements making Institute placement impractical.)
