    Events

Have u thought about events? I have and I figured out that it would be really nice to have like 3-5 big 'main' events each year with some smaller ones. For example anniversary as a huge event with tons of rewards special map and maybe speciall gamemode, another one of the main events could be halloween and 3rd one 'winter event' or just 'new year event'. I've got my vision of special weapons and armor that would be a reward for participating each event like pumpkin head or frozen sword but I'm not sure if others are hyped for events like I am and if so I can share more of my ideas connected to this. Also I'd love to hear what are ur ideas of events and revards.

Events are always good. We're still putting together many plans, but honestly hearing your thoughts on what you want to see is super important to us. We have some time until launch so the more of these we're reading through the better.

I seem to recall something like this being mentioned before, but can't seem to find the thread. One thing I could find is the perfect example for a reward: Santa Hats

Personally, I think hosting events that would be considered important to each faction would be awesome. Like on a date that was considered important to the Vikings you could release skins, equipment or what have you for the Warborn that portrays that event or holiday. Same thing with the Knights and Samurai. Or, as shown by MisterWillow, during like Christmas, or even Halloween, you release skins to all factions that show off the colors and portrayals of that season.

I think Halloween would hold a lot of potential myself. A Draugr Viking costume. An Revenant Knight. And a Hannya Samurai. The possibilities are endless.

You know, even though I'm well aware of the legitimate mythological character of the Draugr, I can only ever think of Skyrim when they're brought up anymore.

Still, provided they do something to differentiate them from the Elder Scrolls, design wise, it would be a perfect fit for the spooky time of the year.

I know, right? I can't help but think that either, but the Draugr just fits so perfectly with the Halloween theme.

Another interesting theme for event releases would be mythological creature skins and equipment. For the Vikings you've got Fenrir, Jormungandr, Odin, and Thor. For the Knights, there's Unicorns, Griffons, the Welsh Dragon and the Basilisk. And for the Samurai, you've got Orochi, Tsuchigumo, Tengu and Kitsune. I think any armor/skin or weapon and equipment inspired by any of these myths would certainly add a great deal of flavor to the factions, Make them seem all that more unique and personalized to their native cultures.

'That list inspired me. Hows this?

    Fenris

This one was easy. Wolf skins, maybe with some leather underneath. Bare chest. Cuirass would be a blood smear. Quintessential berserker garb. Axe head with stylized etching of Fenris with mouth open toward the cutting edge. Two rear spikes mimicking his ears.

    Jormungandr

All armour is etched in a snake scale pattern, Helmet has spines under the eye 'goggles' like teeth. Cuirass has metal bands across the chest and stomach to mimic a snake's belly. Snake skin sash. Axe head has stylized etching of Jormangandr along it.

    Thor

This one was tricky, mostly because I thought lightning bolts everywhere would look a bit silly. Mjollnir on front of helmet, the handle acting as the nose guard. Metal gauntlets and belt, homages to Járngreipr and Megingjörđ respectively. Axe head has hammer on the back, to reference Mjollnir

    Odin

Armour extensively references his myths. Helmet is a technically a Norman or Saxon mask helmet, with wings on the side; has only the left eye open for the wearer---where the right eye would be a stylized eye is etched---and around the 'mouth' there would be stylized etchings of beard and mustache hair; chainmaille hangs from bottom edge. Raven feathers stitched into the pauldrons, feather patterns stitched into tasset (or even scale-maille in the shape of feathers). Metal plates on pecs---one depicting Huginn and the other Muninn---and on stomach---depicting Yggradsil.

    Unicorn

Unicorn crest integrated into top of helmet. Facemask is lattice opened outward and secured in the centre. Chest shield has unicorn head on it.

    Griffin

Helmet is a sallet with a visor in the shape of an eagle head. Feather shapes moulded into bevor, pauldrons, and vambraces. Tasset is made from leather strips layered like feathers. Sabatons are shaped like lion paws. V shaped crossguard with talons at the end of the quillons.

    Dragon

Winged helmet with lizard along the crest. Wing impressions moulded onto pauldrons. Tasset is lizard skin over leather. Knee guards on greaves in the shape of scales.

    Basilisk

Entire suit is etched with lizard scales. Helmet is a heaume with eyes shaped into the top, the eye slit acting as a lizard mouth. Tasset is composed of square plates arranged in a diamond pattern, resembling scales.

    Orochi

Kabuto (helmet) has crest made up of eight spines. Eight spikes hang from shikoro (neck crest). Kusazuri (tasset) is a series of plates with spiked ends. Dou (cuirass) has depiction of Orochi face on it.

    Tsuchigumo

Helmet has spider face on the front instead of a crest, and spider legs shaped onto the shikoro. I imagined this being more menacing than I think it turned out. Spider web patterns cover the dou, kikko (knee coverings), and sode (shoulder guards), as well as the coat.

    Tengu

Feather crest, mask has extended nose. Dou has traditional tengu depicted on it. Feather shapes moulded into kikko. Kogake (sabatons) are in the shapes of bird talons.

    Kitsune

Sculpted nine-tail fox on top of kabuto instead of crest. Face mask in shape of nose. Dou depicts a kitsune. Fox legs on kote (vambraces) and suneate (greaves).

All of these were drawn in the order posted, which is why the layout gets better the further down you get, and apologies for some of them being out of proportion (specifically the Jormangandr Viking)---that's what I get for trying to draw at 4am ---and the fact that they're all in boring or stilted poses. I did so so that everything would be visible (pretty standard concepting). Anyone want a battle-type pose from anyone, let me know.

Also, all of these are only about a few inches in size (full bodies are ~5in), which is why there isn't a lot of detail. If anyone wants to see anything closer, I can draw something larger.

*EDIT* Oh, and if you see something you'd like changed, I can do that, too.

Holiday events would be awesome, I agree, and some events just to prove your strength like faction clashes would be even sweeter.

Way to go, Willow. I have a lot of respect for folks who get inspired enough to create. You rock. I particularly like the idea of Fenris.
