Does anyone know if the 30 level cap of the main game will ever be raised ?

I hope so, with an upgrade to the BoO.

This was brought up before on other forums as well. In all seriousness, having a 5 level gap between NPCs and players, especially an overwhelming amount of NPCs in DZ6 makes the imbalance even more visible. Destiny for one never had NPC gaps more than 2. The way the Division work is not challenging, it is cheap.

So people will shout, "Work as a team". So let me break that down, first of all, not one single person can take down one NPC in one magazine (Apart from a shotgunner now and then). The cleaners have comically speedhacks making them run like little flashes around (The leg animation look stupid btw). On a console targeting is not as accurate as on PC, making this completely ridiculous. And not only that, you are being attacked by a mob of higher level NPCs from all directions at one time. Even working as team someone will get obliterated by more than one other NPC while "teaming" up to take down one NPC. In Midtown Music the purple mobs gets aggrod and will start shooting you from behind, and there are a lot of them. The yellow cleaners and cleaner bosses will actually follow you across the map if they just caught a glimpse of you, and all of the sudden you get fried from behind as you "teaming up" on targets in front of you.

The game is not hard, the mechanics are cheap ways to gives you the illusion that it is hard with a huge imbalance between NPCs and players. I would rather have a larger mob I can take down at least one of them with one mag, than a medium crowd where I go face to face with a machine gunner he will ALWAYS win. with pulse and smart cover I get sniper hits across the 1m damage mark. It barely do damage to the armor.

Don't even get me started on the axe men with radius effects, and NPC grenade spamming which makes cover pointless in some instances. As soon as you break cover a machine gun will actually snipe more than a healthy amount of life bars away across the map (The Pit, I am looking at you).

Do we clear some mobs? Yes, but we also lose to some frequently. And then there is trying PvP in these conditions where you were downed and some a-hole takes your stuff ending in a fire fight.

Developers - PLAY AND TEST YOUR DAMN GAME!

Edit: Forgot to add, I am a Dark Souls player. Now THAT is a hard game, but you have the ability to defend yourself effectively unlike in the Division.

    I will say no.

There really is no point in raising it without significant new story content to drive it.

You don;t need to raise it because of level 35 mobs neither. We just needs mobs to be better balanced in terms of damage output and health/armour pool.

The health and armor pools are just fine. Just the damage needs to be adjusted.

I play a lot of underground - going to dz after a long session of heroic ug feels like I just switched into easy mode. Level 35 elites hit just as hard on dz but their armor and health pools are pathetic low.

The armour/health isn't fine at all.

Mobs shouldn't have so much health/armour. The mobs should be relatively easy to take down, but certain enemy types like heavies and named bosses should be tough targets to take out.

Wrong the enemy health and armor is fine. They melt with a proper team. And that's how it should be. Heroic difficulty is meant to be taken by a team of 4 and if you pug with randoms expect what you get. Sometimes it works, but most it doesn't. The problem is the enemies deal WAYYYY too much damage. It's silly they down you in one shot (even when you are at the 75% armor cap) and seemingly only smart cover can let you take more than a few hits. Perhaps npc's use the all weapon damage modal because it seems the second smart cover goes down your survivability decreases drastically. Npc's need to deal way less damage across the board.

There is simply no reason a medic or common grunt is downing us in two to three hits. An engineer isn't supposed to be doing this either. The heavies should not be doing that as well. They should be suppressing and doing that damage over time due to their large health and armor pools. Only the snipers, shotgunners and named enemies should be dealing large amounts of damage. And even then it shouldn't be one hit kills. Well... The sniper I can be fine with because it's easy enough to counter them with skills and their extremely squishy nature when you get close to them. If they adjusted the damage output of the npc's their health and armor pools would not seem as spongy because you can actually pop up for more than a split second out of smart cover or not use it at all and apply more damage.

In closing its not the health and armor of NPC's that is causing the problems. It's the stupidly high damage output.

Also whats the point of raising the level cap? It's a pointless number. I am fine with them raising the gear score or the gear power level as that seems how our characters are progressing. Maybe if the add new story content (which I highly doubt it) then I can see a level increase of maybe 5 or so. Though most games like this rarely raise the level cap. Maybe a year down the road would be feasible, but I highly doubt The Division will have much longevity into the next year with its ever dwindling player base and utterly sloppy and inept game development team.
