Before 1.3 I was really looking forward to the option of recalibrating weapons, but in practicality this process is even more frustrating than gear recalibration.
There are four reasons for this:
1. The are a larger number of weapon talents than on any other gear item
2. Many of the talents are underwhelming or flat out useless.
3. When you recalibrate and get three talents which are not useful, you can recalibrate again and get many of the same talents appear.
4. Each recalibration costs more weapon kits and phoenix credits.
The main problem here is the PC cost. When 1.3 first hit, I had no weapon kits, lots of PCs (near the cap) and a fair amount of crafting materials.
I haven't been in that situation since. I have plenty of weapon kits (as you can pick them up through normal missions and UG missions), lots of crafting materials (no point crafting if you have no blueprints above GS 182) but am constantly running out of PCs.
And yet because of the limited number of useful talents I have only managed to improve a handful of weapons.
Please review the PC cost of recalibration and potentially set it at a lower figure (25% lower would be good).
Thank you.
Its not meant to be automatic to get a god roll weapon. They give you like 6 chances for crying outloud.
100-500 P credits to unlock a god roll weapon is nothing. Im yet to get a weapon with 2/3 good talents trying to roll the 3rd and being unable to do it because the weapon talent pool ISNT large at all. Yes you cant just sit at the table reclibrating all day long you actually have to..........work for it.............*GASP*.....God roll weapons arent just handed to you with a red bow (Although they are still easy enough to get)
Pro tip: Heroic missions give you 50 Phoenix credits. Lexington on heroic takes 10 minutes. In one hour you can have 300 phoenix credits which is enough to roll a weapon twice or so
I believe we are talking about a weapon that *might* have 3 vaguely usable talents.
1) Frequently get a weapon with 2 bad talents -> Credits/mats
2) Far less frequently get a weapon with 1 bad talent and hopefully 2 somewhat usable ones -> if these look as good (sideways move) or better than current then it is off to recalibrate.
3) With 30 some talents and picking 3 ... it will take a number of rolls to get something decent (not 1 specific talent but something somewhat useful).
The cost for the above even only taking 5 rolls is *really* expensive in terms of time to acquire phoenix credits and I do think the cost could be adjusted down somewhat OR they could do what really needs to be done and revamp most of the talents (ie the crap).
He's not asking for it to be easier... Just hoping to narrow down the rng of it. Weapon talents x gun x skill setup= more then you want to know. With a cap of only 2k credits you blow through it quite fast. Nobody wants to do 40 runs of heroic missions to get that back up. It would be nice if we got credits for completing incursions every time rather then just once.....Originally Posted by MatrX_Wolfcast1e Go to original post
Not really. I think that what he is trying to say, and what would be awesome, is that if you roll a new talent to clear out the one you don't want and don't like it, when you go to roll it again, take that talent out of the pool. If you have 20 talents and 6 tries, each subsequent try, take the one that you are rolling out, out of the pool. it is counter productive having the same talent come up 4 out of 6 times when rerolling something.Originally Posted by MatrX_Wolfcast1e Go to original post
