Frankly I'm fed up of the beginners DZ01 being open to high end players/cheaters who sit outside the entrance and just kill anyone who goes through. At the moment I've got an alt that I deliberately keep at the high end beginner level who runs field medic for extractions to help give people a good experience. But seriously Uplay, if you want people to play in the DZ keep zoning stricter than it is, so beginners can have an even experience...otherwise people will just say bye bye.

I'm also aware of the negative comments aimed at my character for her placing a revive station at the rope...to all those who want to shoot people in the back...suck it up sunshine. You can get enough goodies by watching people kill themselves and looting. Let's not troll the beginners.

Also telling me I take the game too seriously does not endear you to me. I'm most likely older than most players, and do not stab my team or friendly characters in the back...and if that messes up your worldview...go suck on eggs.

I'll say it. I used to be against this, especially since they already said its not going to happen, but each patch they drop, and now with them totally screwing up big time with the underground loot, this seems more and more attractive all the time. I thought hvt's would ne far better, but, they screwed up the loot big time there too.

Doing a tough weekly and getting 3 lone star holsters got very old, very quickly. Such a waste this game is turning out to be. All because they're missing simple things... really simple things!

    Bring on the neutral option!!

I was all for the old DZ but it has become increasingly hard to be in the DZ now with Massive jacking up the way the game flows.. I play 3-4 hours on week days and mostly all day each weekend so I am not exactly a casual gamer.

I say we vote for a option to have Massive removed from this game.. Then it might work better.

Haha I remember agreeing with you in previous threads.

I am sure that the older polls were >50% against too, so seems like over a 30 point swing based on this

Funny how Massive have kind of made the community lean away from teh DZ mechanic, through trying to force people to use it. Good job Massive, you tried, you failed, now maybe you will listen to the people that play the game and make these changes.

This guy (jeffnoble14) have posted excellent points about the current state of the "PVP"

    Best points in my opinion:

"1. There is no PvP in this game. The closest you get to PvP is players who know they are going to be fighting other players ambushing lower leve players who DON"T know they are about to be fighting other players until they've already been killed by said higher level players that walked up casually behind them [...] and executed them. That's not PvP [...]

    HOW TO FIX:
Seperate PvP server for PvP only. Trust me, you'll only need one server. I know you THINK you have a large PvP population. You don't. You have a large ******bag population. They are not going onto your PvP server where things are equal and fair more than once. The TRUE PvP, hard core gamer, population will rip them apart and they won't be back. If you wan't to truly give your PvP players the best possible experience, you do the following:

    1. Open up the map and let these guys have at each other. You can then divide up the map in a multitude of ways[...]
    2. Their entry fee into the PvP map is to select an Item from their inventory as THEIR PERSONAL BOUNTY. You kill them and that weapon, gear, etc. is your reward. There should be a minimum gear score to be placed as bounty based on your gear score level.
    3. Solo PvP should be a free for all, while Squad PvP should be organized in a versus format. The Squad PvP should provide a supply drop to the victors based on the average gear score of the TEAM THEY DEFEATED. You don't want 191 gear? Stop playing against 191 Squads. [...]

Once you've established an actual PvP evironment, you can then free up the DZ to actually be fun [...]"

Yeah, there's meant to be a high drop rate in the Underground, BUT, it's mainly focused on two Gear sets.

    Sorta.

The Underground differs from the DZ in a number of ways:

    1. It's not free-roam. Each underground mission is a set-piece, with a defined objective (or up to 3 objectives) -- they're randomly built, but it's a linear mission.

    2. Regular enemies don't drop any loot except for ammunition, grenades, and the occasional weapon kit. Only the named enemy drops any loot.

    3. You get no Underground XP for kills, only for completing the mission in its entirety -- if you fail at any point, you get no rewards (minor exceptions: there are collectible intel bits that give you a bit of Underground XP, and there are occasionally chests that grant a high-end item).

What the underground does give is a "cache" each time you rank up a level, which contains one high-end weapon or gear set item of high gear score (if your gear score is above 220, I think, it's always a 229 weapon or a 268 gear item).

However, as mentioned, the caches pretty much only offer the following items: BLIND gear set pieces, FireCrest gear set pieces, a G36, a PP19, or an SVD. That's the loot table for caches.
