Greetings,
Is there a way to adjust the AI fighters in choosing which enemy planes they decide to attack? I play IL-2 1946 V4.13, and have played multiple scenarios and careers in which it seems whenever I get into a dogfight with enemy planes, they ALL seem to want to chase after my plane as if it's the only one there. I was recently playing a Russian career, and was flying a Yak-1 with seven other Yak-1's, escorting IL-2's to attack a German airfield, and were intercepted by eight Bf-109's. As the dogfight started, I noticed all eight 109's were trying to get behind me! Several 109's even flew passed Il-2's and other Yak's that were closer to them! You would think that the IL-2's would be their priority since they are bombing their airfield! A similar situation occurs when I am chasing an enemy plane. It seems that all the other planes in our group are all trying to chase the plane that I'm trying to shoot down....and again, flying right passed enemy planes that are closer! This happens with enough frequency, that I have had to delete scenarios and careers several times out of frustration......Thanks for any help in advance.
Don't think there is a way to do that, except from changing the mission(s) as in lowering the enemies' Skill levels....
With the latest updates, the AI routines have been changed, and it could very well be that these changes show bad side-effects on earlier capaigns....
If you are using DGEN campaigns, you could try and change some conf.ini values, in the [DGEN] section:
CampaignAI=Normal
MaxBomberSkill=1
What the actual options are, I am not sure... try and search these forums...
Mind you, these changes will not have any effect on a DGEN campaign already started, only for new ones!
