A New Class: Kage (The Ninja)

So, from what I have searched, the meaning of said warriors from the Chosen faction are(until now):

    Kensei - A Sword Saint
Kabuki - Someone or something only done for show
Nanigata(Spear) Guy - Don't know the name but you can spot a spear warrior in the breaking helmet on the left (here in the forums, just look to the left of the side right now)

And now, the why I created this thread, the ninja. Which would be the Kage, which meaning is a Shadow.

Kages should work like this: Should have really low Health Points, should use short swords or, as he is "japanese", a Kanto, which basically is a short katana. Kage's attacks will stpo if an enemy attacks at the same time; an opponent can attack and just pass through his attacks, this way the Kage would be harder to play in duels(it would be like the inverse of the "rage" mode we see in one of the E3 gameplays, will get link another time)

. This is a not a class for dueling, its for capturing objectives and really work from the shadows. So those would be his disadvantages, so now I'm going to talk about his advantages:

Starting by the Back Stabbing: enemies caught off guard that are stabbed in the back by the Kages should lose a LOT of HP from 7/10 to 8/10, meaning that they remain only with 3/10 or 2/10 of the total HP. For this amount of damage to be done, Kage should have to use heavy attack(making the attack more predicatble and consequently giving more time for the enemy to react to this attack and dodge it), if normal attack is used, it would only inflict 5/10 or 6/10 damage. And, as they suck in dueling, they should also have a throwing star/knife like the Oni. This way the final blow for those 3/10 or 2/10 damage should be a (1 or 2)successful hit from an auto attack and a throwing star or just a throwing star depending on the ammount of HP the enemy has.

    Feats:
    • 1st Feat: Throwing Star/Knife - Just like the Oni
    • 2nd Feat: Booby Trap - Places a rope from one wall to another that will slow enemies if they past through. Can only be placed when walls are near and can be cut then, if an enemy spots it, with a normal attack.
    • 3rd: Nimble Feet - Run significantly faster near walls or overall structures likes wagens, small wooden structures, the giant thing slaming the door which I don't know the name, just not in open field, really near structures. This will help you go from Objective to Objectives and get those back stabs.
    • 4th: True Kage(Shadow)/Camouflage - Can only be used near walls; will make invisible if you do not move and/or take damage. Hitting a Back Stabb will grant you a True Kage an additional time(can only happen once).

As the damage of this Kage is really high(if you are a good Kage), he doesn't need more than one feet in the damage section, a throwing star is enough. He has a lot of control over capturing Objectives and if you are, in late game, denfending them: You just place a booby trap in the entrance door for an objective(talking about the map of E3 2015) and, near the "control room"(where you capture the objective itself) you stay in the opposite door with camouflage ready, waiting for an opponenet and BAM! backstab. This would be a nice strategy, but it would be also predictable in higher levels of plays so imagination comes into play in this class, the Kage.

So, just to clarify: It's a high risk high reward damage class with good control IF you so choose.

What do you guys think? I really like it as this class would be really different from every other class, even from a mechanical point of view.

P.S.: The Back Stabbing animation should be rather slow so enemies can spot the teammate being stab and give a little time for them to run to the hurting teammate or for the "being-stabbed" person to cry for help.

Edit: Removed the words "suck" and the expression "suck in duels" as it was confusing people.

Good idea. I was more for a dual Kento or a dual sai, rather than a single one, but yeah. A ninja is neat and you choose the name perfectly.

Overall, I think we need more assist and gimmick classes that will be focused on helping the others and winning by others ways than the traditional AoB one.

I thought on that and it would be cool, its Heavy attack could be by using both of his Kantos and his Normal Attacks could be only by using only one Kanto. But like that it would make it so it looked that he was good at dueling(maybe?).

I'm skeptical as to how much people would tolerate a class that shows up out of nowhere and stabs you in the back for the majority of your health without giving you a chance to defend yourself. Imagine if you've already gotten hit once or twice, that's an instant kill. People would rage hard.

That class would be crazy op i mean 3/10 of your heath i can see but 8/10 a single attack from them would leave you totally drained and only 20% of your health left, then if your facing an opponent like the oni one heavy attack is going to finish you im already seeing video's in multiplayer when its a 2v1 an one of the attacker's just leaves the duel runs behind the guy an starts heavy attacking an they cant block it, imagine what a class like that would do. thats just crazy maybe a slow effect or a stun 5 sec when struck in the back until hit again i can see that being the case, but that 8/10 is crazy high dude then imagine what happen's when someone playing a class like this becomes really proficient at duel's unless this class could be one shot with a light attack from any class i wouldnt want it in the game thats high risk high reward.

This is a concept. Of course, the numbers shouldn't look like that at all, because it needs to be tested, balanced... But as a concept, this isn't as bad.
We're talking about a character that is absolutely garbage on the main mechanic of FH that is AoB. Like 3 or 4 strikes of a Warden could kill a Kage easily. It's focused on heavy-risk/heavy-reward and needs another guy to serve as a bait to really kill. Because with a map, a player with any hero against a Kage could easily see him comining.
As a concept, I don't find it that OP. In fact, concepts are never OP. Bad stat choices usually makes a character OP.

But if it was just me, Back stab as a Feat could work, only if that feat have a high cool down and if the opponent could escape it. I don't think it should deal that much damage, tho. Finishing a bleeding opponent should be why back stabbing is an option. With that, a double kanto could make him bearable in a 1v1 setting. It's like seeing him as a rushdown character in fighting games, like Cammy or Xiaoyu. High offense, low defense. The kind of characters I like to main.

The Samurai already have an Assassin class don't they? The Orochi/Oni is the quick katana wielding assassin type according to hideoshikaze.

The "Camouflage feat is the 4th for a reason. It would be the hardest feat to get or at least the one which would take the most time to get. And you could use it a max of 2 per match(imagining that the 4th feats are really high cooldown) due to the fact that it has a colldown reset if you stab an enemy successfully in the back after revealing yourself in a short period of time off course, have to add that though.

About the backstabbing. Consider this: You are in domination mode, 4v4 with human players in a small open environment. Open environment means that you can see enemy from a distance which means you can see Kage from a distance WHICH MEANS that you can counter this character pretty easy that is why the 3rd feat is a Movement Speed boost NEAR WALLS which encourages the sneaky stuff which is literally standing near walls/pillars and what not to remain unseen and the 4th a "camouflage" feat for what I already told. So as you can clearly see, this is a high risk high reward class that the expression of a player is truely taken in on how you use your environment to your advantage; your positioning with this class is the stabbing almost on its own.

Also, as this class doesn't lack damage, he lacks duelism and damaging feats(only has one). He also has Booby traps so be set in a small gap: between walls not too far away from each other(2 raiders wide for example) so he can get around that enemy and stab it. Have to add that the stabbing animation (when Kage successfully hits) is rather slow. This helps the stabbed enemy to call for helped or to be spotted that it needs help.

Yes this character plays best when avoiding the Art of Battle, which would be by backstabbing an enemy, but exceeds in other points, which makes him mechanically different which IMO makes it really interesting for this game and specifically this game.

This game is all about the art of battle a system that will take a significant amount of skill to compete with other'sno botton mashing no frame counting your steel against mine whos better, why would you want to introduce a character that completely defies the mechanics of that? what your describing is a character that can win duels without having to really duel lol? To me that character wouldnt feel like he belongs in for honor he'd feel more like a rogue an for honor is a game of warrior's.

let me ask you this lets say it's dominion an both teams are breaking it comes down to your kage ( red attacking team) an a viking raider ( blue defending team) , the raider knows you can only use Camouflage near a wall so he decided to just hack up the minions in zone A (the open strategic point no walls near) to push his team back out of breaking status an get his allies back in the fight, but as an attacker you need to finish him an get this last kill to lock in the victory for you and your team. In a situation like this how would you pull it back for your team im curious?
