Matchmaking for CM Incursions without mics. WTH?

I've completed both the Incursion CMs multiple times, but never succeeded with Matchmaking. It's ridiculous how many groups I was pulled in to where none of them had microphones.

After leaving 4-5 groups for this very reason (I stayed in the first one for a bit anyway, but that group failed miserably), I ended up in one where we cleared the first portion with ease, but failed several times using both the front shed strategy as well as the back. I had the 2nd fuse planted several times, but my group kept couldn't hold the rooftops long enough for all of us to get together to down the Named (I refuse to call bullet sponges "bosses" as there are no mechanics; just fill him w/ bullets until he finally drops).

After stopping and discussing a couple of strategies, we came together, tried something different and cleared it in about 15 minutes. The entire experience, from failing to trying different things and ultimately succeeding, was fun. Never could've happened without communication.

I agree, as this definitely pisses me off. I've yet to complete CM on either incursion as I'm forced to try with randoms, but every group I join, no one is using their mics. It's as if they expect to just streamroll through it and beat it without any communication or planning at all. It's very frustrating.

well, for FL that's pretty much the case: you type whether you go down wave 1 or wave 4 and everyone gets into the pit. Given 200+ GS it shouldn't be overly difficult.

And I do know some women players who non mic cause of bad experiences, harassment, being hit on, flirted with or given a hard time from certain players. Some should have the option to program voice disguise for protection but headset makers dont do it anymore cause I heard consoles forbid it now to terms of use requirements ?

On Xbox, I know many players who got stuck with bad microsoft headsets, they are infamous in terms of lack of longevity. Mine always broke in two weeks.

Agree that serious gaming requires mic communication, and minimum quality for me is shelling out at least 100 bucks, I like Turtle Beach
Yah but the kid used his text to be part of the group and communicate. It's bad when they don't even do that. For me it's the stupid open mic asians (sorry asians but it's normally you). Who ever made open mic a defualt and haven't fixed it is an idiot on the Dev team.

As for the female I was suprised the other day when some one used there mic after some Daily runs and it was a female and she asked if she could add me. This was after every one else left the group and i was calling out commands during the missions and at start seeing if folks wanted to swap skiills cause of my build compared to theirs. So yah there are a few ladies out there. She's now the third one on my friends list (two of them are GF/Wives of other gamer friends I have and they don't use mics for that reason ).

Looks at his RAZER head set....than again every thing else is razor and Alienware in his set up. Yah some of use can afford such, but not every one. For a good long time I used a cheap mic cause I had a badass good head set to use from DJing back in my younger years, but finally retired it for a proper gaming head set lol

The last few days I have carried a lot of guys with low gear scores to help them gear up, but I'll be honest if they try CM and we don't have a good team I'll let them know they aren't ready for it yet with there under 100 GS which you should not be at after a few hard level missions and depedning the challenge mode I'll carry them any way and than give them my gear drops to help level them.

I talk to females quite often.. although I suppose how some might be... fearful? Still, you're placing a huge penalty on yourself and others by choosing not to communicate.

Frankly kids young enough to "need protecting" probably shouldn't be playing a game where the goal is killing other humans (or more appropriately, representations of people). They should probably playing Spyro...

But really, what prompted the OP was that it wasn't one person listening but not speaking, it was that all 3 players I joined with had no way to communicate. Agreed FL CM is much easier now, but still many unexpected things happen where some degree of communication is extremely helpful.

As for Clear Skies CM, unless you're playing with teammates who are all familiar with each other, communication is a must. Most groups will simply immediately kick those with no mic (we had to boot several before finalizing our random team).

Sure, most don't need to talk to complete Consulate or Tunnel on CM, but Incursions are different. I don't understand why people would waste other people's time by matchmaking with no mics in these situation.

Mic's are so valuable with the harder content. I will take someone with a mic that is maybe under geared slightly over a GS228 with no mic any day of the week. In fact most under geared players are more willing to listen to the plan and follow through with it I've found.

But even if they don't have a mic I will ask them to do jumping jacks if they can hear me and as long as they start jumping I know they can hear me. No jacks and you're getting the boot most likely (especially on a CM incursion) in my team. Being able to just hear is fine for hard mode incursions and daily challenge missions but less ideal for CM incursions or the DZ. Even if they are able to hear us there might be a time where they are starting to get over run, or maybe can't get their fuse box over to the middle (in clear sky) and the only way we find out they are having trouble is when we get the "an agent on your team is down" message.

I don't have a super great job, but I saved up 25 bucks a week for about two and half months and bought my self an Astro Gaming A50 headset a year or two back. It was time to replace the crappy Microsoft headset that game with my X1 and I had had a pair of A40's for my 360 (they eventually got eaten by my sisters puppy but that's a different story haha) so I was sure I wanted to stick with Astro as I was super impressed with the sound quality and the quality of the mix amp. The wireless function is great and the synth'd dolby surround sound makes games absolutely that much more immersive. The division doesn't take advantage of it as much as other games do like Rainbow 6 Siege but they still sound great.

Got a little off topic there, but my point is even if you don't have a super good job, a little saving and you're on your way to affording a good headset. And you don't even need to spend $250 on Astors or top of the line Turtle Beachs or Seinhesiers. There are some more than adequate sets out there for less than $100 bucks. And any one who games for an hour or two a night would get a ton of use out of them.

So yeah, mic up and you'll see how much better the whole experience is. I've also found people rage quit a lot less when everyone is communicating and working through the issues that are popping up.

I dunno if that is true, or just an opinion. Certainly doesn't make them garbage lol. Maybe a little misguided but certainly not trash haha.
