I've been stuck on one ANBA challenge for a very long time. Since then, I've worked very hard to get the best time everywhere. I just recently discovered that ANBA get harder if you have good scores. I have gold and platinum everywhere, am pretty far in the third tier tracks and only have two berserker blueprints. Feels like getting this bike will be near impossible.
I'd like to suggest changing the system so you don't get punished for performance, or maybe a way to reset your score once without resetting your loots, map unlocks and upgrades.
Hi Kimboudreau,
ANBA propose you opponents slightly better than you on that specific track, so that you can beat your own record. So yes, better you get, harder it is to beat ANBA choice.
you can reset the opponent for 5 gems though if you are stuck with one.

Sometimes you just have to suck it up and pay the 5 gems. It doesn't just change your opponent, it changes the track as well.
You could also play against a ghost who is a second or so faster than you to find a new approach to a track. After working on the new approach you might be able to take anba down.
A couple of sure things though, if you like racing anba, never ever set a new record. If you do set a new record, redo the track and go slower. If you set a new record, beating anba becomes more difficult. Also, you want to beat anba by the smallest margin possible. If you beat him by 1 second, you'll have to be even faster the next time. I've had anba races where I beat him over and over again trying to get my margin of victory down to less than .1 before I move on to the prize wheel.
What kills me is when I set a new record while playing in the bunker. Not much you can do about it other than accept that your next anba challenge on that track will be tough.
That's my problem. I just recently learned that it works like that and it is too late. I grinded a lotsince the moment I got stuck and don't want to loose all my progress. During this grinding, I made a lot of effort to get the best score possible on every tracks to keep the grinding fun. Now it feels like what could have been a rewarding walk in the park will be a long, frustrating and gem spending shore.
It is kind of anti-intuitive to seek to actively achieve missions with lowest score possible if you don't know that it is the best strategic way. It also goes against the idea of fun to always refrain from doing your best. That is why I think there should be some sort of algorythm to make sure that people aren't punished for getting good scores early on or, at least, a way to reset your score once for people like me that understand late that mediocrity is the best way to go.
I went through a few stages with anba. First I thought I was just an awesome rider. Every time I beat anba I set a new record. Second, I thought maybe anba is actually just me racing against my personal best time (which is a better explanation for why I kept setting new records than "I'm an awesome rider"). Then I realized it was just taking a time slightly faster than my best time to make me improve.
You're right though, definitely counter intuitive. But many things in this game are.
If you've never completed a track, you will never see it in the bunker or an anba mission.
If you don't build any bikes from blueprints after the bunker is available, you'll only have to race those bikes in the bunker meaning you have fewer bikes to master.
Anba is always 0:00.001 ahead in your record, you need to have a time more than 0:00.002 to beat him. you will also lose if tie with 0:00.001
Huh? I wish....Originally Posted by Zarrex081985 Go to original post
Anba has matched me to a rider that has a time of 0:27.194 on Great Wall, while my PB is 0:28.039, close to 1s difference.
Now I usually get anbas with time mine + 0:00.001, but earlier when I used to beat it >1 sec, I was given much harder opponents.Originally Posted by ChemicalD Go to original post
This is a pro-tip for anyone starting out, or recently started:
Do not go 100% against ANBA.!
Only go just enough to beat the ANBA time.
All you have to do is beat the time. So beat the time by the least amount possible.
Thanks hikasrams, i hadnīt touched Anba in a long time. I did a test just now and paid 5 gems to get another matchup instead of Great Wall, and to my surprise it matched me on Black Forest against someone with the exact same time as my PB, so yea if i improve 0:00.001 i will win. My apologies to Zarrex, i didnīt realize RL had changed this!Originally Posted by hikasrams Go to original post
