Difficulty is where it should be

Played this game on the PS4 at E3 and felt extremely embarassed, couldn't even get past the archers halfway through after numerous attempts. The show was nearly over so I had to bolt. The cute Ubisoft developer was very nice and helpful though.

Please do not make this game easier!!! I'm just really bad with the PS4 controller. I had no interest in the game, and never even heard of it until I saw the booth and played it. Looks great and I feel compelled to finish it now, but on the PC!

More importantly: difficulty options are a must (easy, medium, hard, etc.). Please do like your cousin, Assassin's Creed. A difficulty that anybody can beat isn't the same as a difficulty that anybody can enjoy. Give challenge to the players who want it, I beg you!

Here's one to the hope of having a "european extreme" difficulty where one hit will kill you

as soon you are more into-the-game, understood all the game-mechanics and usually are good at using a gamepad, you need a challenge.....

    ...european extreme sounds great

Yeah I kind of liked how watch dogs had multiple difficulty modes and other ubisoft games are introducing them I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I don't like difficulty settings. Because they always screw with the game balance. Increasing the difficulty never makes the game harder. It never makes the AI smarter and better, it just increases their health and damage, which doesn't make it more difficult, it just makes it more tedious. I'd prefer the Dark Souls approach where they balance everything once, and go "That's it, this is the way the game is mean to be played."

The only way I would be for difficulty settings is if they actually made the game more difficult. Made enemies tougher by making them use more combos they didn't use in easier settings, faster reaction times, dodging and parrying like the best of them. More enemy units, and a higher ratio of named units. More aggressive. Using the terrain to their advantage, trying to surround you. Things like that. But if it's just the same old more HP more DPS I'm dead set against it.

I hope they add a hardcore mode where the stance indicator in the Art of Battle system is not present and there are no power ups or revenge mode.
