I'd also like to see a better server connection, and a PERMANENT crew. And possibly rather than the U.S that they've cut off multiple cities, take the game to Europe. ALL of Europe, cut some cities off, but keep the countries, the different cultures. Seeing that would be nice, and it'd take racing games to the next level.Originally Posted by ChillierNsx94 Go to original post
I didn't mean to imply I'm not capable of managing in realistic games or that I find it makes games too hard. I believe the problem with some objects in this game is not simply the physics being bad, it's that the collision box of the object itself doesn't match the object's appearance at all. Until they fix that I don't plan on trying to drive too hardcore, it's not that I can't, it's that I don't have the patience. Also the sequential gearbox in this game is just bad, it's slow and likes to randomly ignore my inputs.Originally Posted by robertedell Go to original post
Oh, and there's no "moving on" that needs to occur, arcade and sim games can coexist. I'm willing to concede this game to an extent to the realism evangelists, but the whole freaking genre? Hell no, you're just being selfish. What can a realistic game offer to replace the feeling of raising hell in a city as it crumbles before you? If you don't think this generation needs a new "Burnout" "Motorstorm" or "Midnight Club" then I don't know what to say to you.
Excuse the late reply, I was out of town.
your problems seem to be user error, if you want to not worry about the driving, then don't play a racing game. The Crew is trying to give a semi-realistic perspective into the racing world, and as an automotive technician, I feel like Ubisoft did a good job with capturing the way every one of the vehicles in the game runs, sounds, and handles. the Ignorance in the world shocks me sometimes...

With a thread like this, you will always have the focus on what is not good about the physics.
Of course there are good things as well. For instance that all cars have a distinct character and a unique behavior. This remains when you tune them for each spec, despite the performance going closer to each other. You can feel the difference between the Ferrari F40 and 458 Speciale for example. One of the best analogue cars against a more modern suspension setup. Details like that are very nicely done. Also the old school axles against independent suspension setups. There is more refinement in these physics than in a lot of other games.
That makes it even more stupid that cars are behaving ridiculous on small impacts.
Small jumps can trigger sudden direction changes, 45 degrees on the road even. This make driving unpleasant at times and also too unpredictable to be consistent in challenges, races and skills.
Sometimes you get launched so far you can see Paris.
There are some weird things in the physics that are more like bugs than features.
The floaty wobbly and jumpy reaction to road surfaces and small obstacles has to go.

If you wanted a simulation of driving could you not hop in your vehicle and while your at it do some grocery shopping? Sure, it is a bit cheaper to to buy a game and take the Ferrari out for a spin but if I want to experience the real thing I go out and do it. If I want to drive a super car I grab my 20 dollar disc (insert car arcade title here) and go ****ing crazy. As long as everyone's having fun there's no point in being a party pooperOriginally Posted by ChillierNsx94 Go to original post
