Hey, just thought I'd post some of my suggestions after watching the E3 2016 Viking Mission as the Raider.
No horns or wings on helmets
No bones on the armor
More blood when hits connect, blood dripping from the weapon please
No spinning lines around character head when stunned, have them stagger or something to give visual
No hit block when the rage like (Arms spread out) ability is activated, this doesn't make sense
Hits that connect need to stop at the body, not continue through in the swing, have the character jerk the weapon in the opposite direction of initial swing or towards themselves after hit to finish the action and bring the weapon back to defense.
P.S. Love the design for the Samurai armor, wish you would be as authentic with the Viking/ Norse armor too (.i.e no bare chest) xD
Looking very much forward to getting my hands on this wonderful looking game.

1 - I don't aggree.
2 - Don't aggree.
3 - No need for more but blood dripping would be really cool and off course it could not be too muc of it; just for like 2 seconds after a duel.
4 - Clarification is Key: "Spinning Lines" are only used for that kind of Crowd Control (a Stun), yes its not real but c'mon, its a game still, not a movie.
5 - Did not understand this.
6 - That would be too fast, not necessary.
7 - Vikings will have a lot of armor too (you can see in the boats) that Raider they played with just gave no f*cks.
Hello, Skallagrim. (JK)
I agree with all of your suggestions, wholeheatedly. I miss the pseudo realism the designers had before. Most of the aesthetic stuff such as armor and blood effects can be improved, but things such as animations and gameplay elements aren't so easy, although they still have 8 months left to develop the game. Hopefully this feedback reaches them and it'll influence their designs on future heroes as well.
I said the animations would be hard, stuff like bones and horns wouldn't be that hard but I think player choice should take over here. In the Viking customization screen before "The Great Raid" you can choose helmets that don't have horns or wings. We've got to remember that the devs said themselves that these factions are supposed to be exaggerations of their historical brethren. They're meant to feel like great warriors, not look like accurate historical depictions. Though if they add high fantasy elements then that's a step too far imo.Originally Posted by FLYINGvDUTCHMAN Go to original post
Also, Skallagrim is awesome!
Yeah you can customize your dude, but the NPC's will still look ridiculous, I feel like they could have gone with something more authentic to show how great the Viking Heroes are, like having their arms adorned by golden torques to show them as being warlords. I think that the removal of the horns/wings/bones would not take away from the expression of passion and freedom that they were going for with the Vikings. And remember, the samurai are historically accurate, and they look sick, so why do the Vikings need to be Holiwoodised?Originally Posted by Willaguy2010 Go to original post
The Kensei looks like something out of Dark Souls with how big and fat he is. I wouldn't call that historically accurate.Originally Posted by FLYINGvDUTCHMAN Go to original post
I would say his body type reminds me of something a lot more realistic, sumo wrestlers, and the armor he wears isn't out of place right? I do not think it would have been out of the question to see a Samurai with this kind of build? What do you think? Certainly nothing like how unlikely it would have been to see a horn helmeted bone belt wearing Norseman/ Viking. Or am I wrong in my thinking?Originally Posted by Willaguy2010 Go to original post
