An alternative to actually fixing the Ballistic Shield?

So, since obviously fixing a completely broken skill is bad, I had another alternative idea.

The Ballistic Shield, if you didn't know, no longer blocks bullets after you sprint, take cover, dodge roll, or vault over something. This really, really sucks, as 'threat' seemed to finally be fixed, so, it works very well as an aggro-generator.

However, here we are nearly a month in, and the above bug is still not fixed, or even acknowledged by the devs. So, instead, can we just make the cooldown start immediately, instead of after it's gone, so once we DO break it, we can throw it away and just pull another?

I'd like it if you could sling it over your back instead of just throwing it away. I used to use it but got so tired of either having to throw it away and risk not having it when I needed it or constantly have to sprint and have my character pause to pull it out every time I stopped.

I really liked the add importance to my side arm while using it, wish it would get a little love from the devs.

Used it in Challenge missions early days as an SP build. Was awesome taking shotgunners face on for about 10 seconds before she popped.

Want to make a build around it for PvP with coolheaded pistol and predators mark maybe...

    plz fix.

I still run it with my Tactician's build. It's a lot less useful now that it breaks on a whim, but the extra 500k wall is super, super nice, and when paired with an Airburst seeker mine, it makes short work of things, especially for a skill build.

i was using sentrys with ballistic shield, great fro marking enemies, but after running with the shield you could not use your 2nd skill, was so annoying in combat, so i ditched it.

Why should they fix something, nobody uses?

I leveled with 2 friends (one healer, one dps) and decided to go for a tank build. That went well, until we got harder hardmodes and was a complete waste once we started challenging modes/incursions.
They blow your shield away in a blink and then you're standing there with your pistol and don't even tickle the enemies (i was pre 1.2 with my tank at like 140k HP, full armor, 120k DPS or so). So i switched to my DPS guy and all mobs died in half the time or less (was better equipped by that time than the other DPS).

I also used stuff like turrets and seeker grenades with my tank. Until i realized every elite just walks over this crap ignoring it or trampling it down.

The whole tank aspect needs some love. Without a tank build and a shield in your hand, you shouldn't be able to get more than 25% armour or so. A tank should have the possibility to taunt mobs to keep them away from healers/dps. Stuff like that. Now we have 600k roughness monsters running around just for trolling in DZ. No shield = no 75% armor / no 250k HP. Simple as that. The shield should btw not break, just lose it's effect once down but regain effect over time while in cover.

I was expecting more from TD than toughness/troll builds and dps/toughness builds and tacticians troll builds. More diversity. More complexity. Less boring content like endless spawning waves of mobs. Most missions during levelling or later on hard/challenging are more fun that falcon crap/crappy sky.

the shield is only bad because of the bugs and glitches associated with it, also tanks builds are pretty good since 1.2

Well, nobody uses it because it's bugged like hell. And too weak.

Toughness builds shouldn't work without going to the tank build. Ballistic shield should be the only way to go above 200k toughness.

All you see now is toughness troll builds without the intention to tank, just to troll players in DZ.
