So I have been trying to play this game in survivor mode, expert difficulty, with permadeath on.
Now I'm well aware of what Permadeath means. It means game over when you die, period. No respawns you completely restart the game from the beginning.
Thats all well and good. After playing the game like this I feel its really how the game is meant to be played as it makes you completely take notice of EVERYTHING from every little sound to anything that catches your eye. It forces you to slow down and really work your butt off. It makes it actually exciting, scary, and really intense when you get into ANY combat even if its with something as simple and small as a single Dhole. So in my opinion permadeath is a really good addition to this game.
What I find incredibly annoying is that intro portion... all of it all the way up til your "set free" so to speak. The tutorial parts. They are slow. They force you to go at their pace and force you to do specific things like gather materials for specific items. It's not a big deal to get through.. but its about 20 minutes of forced content you learn not to enjoy on the about the second or third time through. If your playing a permadeath game it should take you back to the part where you are set free or give you the option of skipping all the tutorial crap.
I understand permadeath.. but it takes a good while to learn how to actually play like this. As it's a major difference and there is absolutely zero wiggle room for being careless with your life in game. You absolutely in every way must pay attention to 100% of everything to successfully survive.. and it takes a little while and lots of dying and restarting to figure out where all you're screwing up at.
So please if any devs at Ubisoft read this.. please make an option to skip the tutorial bits and get straight to the open world complete freedom part where you can play at your own pace rather than being forced to redo the entire intro. And preferably just after you finish the quest for Sayla to get the green leafs for her to heal herself. After that you are set free to do as you please.
Thanks
Agree 100%, and as i have mentioned too they shuld give the survivors /perma /expert players the option to disable the tutorial. If you are going for this mode you surely dont need a tutorial on how to use a bow and how to hunt the goatBut you still probably need to get used to the stamina bar..... however good luck in completing the challenge!
