There isn't really a place or anything like that, its something the community agreed on, it started with the definition of Ghost with Thief1 (1998) Then continued with Phantom and then Panther with Conviction and so on
Ghosting is the big one, the "official" one, the one thats the most famous.
Take part here in the forums and you will catch the local stealth "slang" as we say
Other stealth games have other rules too.
The Hitman Series has a whole bunch of codenames associated to each playstyle (silent assassin, professional, ninja, maniac etc)
i do need to catch up on the lingo of your communities this is really the first time I've taken forums as a big deal and it seems fun so far learning new things about the games, secrets, the lingo, and so forth. Sorry if I seemed bent on it being ghosting i had no idea what else to call itCant wait for SC7 I will probably enjoy it regardless.
Well, I suppose we should clarify what we are talking about when "ghosting." In the early days of SC, it was the player's ability to avoid detection and interaction except where the mission mandated it. I can see where there is no "ghosting" possible when the game takes away any real option to go through the level without ever being detected, but I don't attribute that failing to the player.Originally Posted by coltcat Go to original post
