OMG. 2 Words... Trading Floor. What a MASSIVE change to the building game dynamics... That said, playing on veteran (customised) with missions turned off (and regretting it since I can only get influence over time via share market control - now that's a challenge!). Got Walbruk running fine to satisfy lunar licencing game, then started out to see whether sameold-sameold would work in other zones.. you know, flood with tier 1 housing, upgrade all to tier 2 and delete tier 1's that don't upgrade.. etc. I discovered Trading Floors at that point... and wow what a change - now I'm just deleting tier 2's to build them into current city design! At present my second temperate zone has 1000 tier 2 houses, 65 odd tier 3's, but 250 odd tier 4's! 8 x "+20" Trading Floors running :-) Income is 500k+ on veteran :-) Major plus factor to game design. I now need to run tundra modules for extra water and molybdenum (rather than completely ignoring them as I did before - come to think of it, those tundra modules would be so much more useful if you were to lower the usage cost overall - not presently worth using on anything else). When I eventually push over into a 3rd temperate zone, I'll be building city layouts with trading floors in place immediately! Share market is fun and all (nice to have to a reason to be 'present' in the game), but trading floors.... wow. Just ...wow. Well done on adding real depth. My only gripe is that I wish you had implemented it at launch so you didn't cop so much flack for releasing such a simplistic game. 2205 is only getting better - keep it up!

This game is such garbage and this update is terrible, because of those stupid sector traits my income is in the hole because my sector with the most farms got a negative farm thing and now everyone is hungry and piss off including me not to mention ever since this crap launched I've been lagging and freezing like no tomorrow, I've had to restart the game countless times...

Also the ornaments which is the main thing I look forward to in a DLC are a complete joke and by far the worst so far...like are you for real with these? you added some weird outdoor arcade thing and wait for it...MORE TREES!!!!!! and not just trees to replace bulldozed natural trees like in the old anno game nahhhh that would make too much sense...trees in a box again WITH THE SAME WHITE BOARDER!?? "lets plant some trees to restore the forest fellas! but wait don't forget to put a white boarder around it so we don't forget where they are hur derr"

If this was in the game at the start it wouldn't have been so bad well if it didn't make my game lag also but added at this point? when everyone has their companies built and activating this update screws all that work up...yeah super fun idea...all these spaced out "free DLC's" are just a sad attempt to fix this bad game and to prolong the release of the paid for DLC's that we should have got shortly after the game launched since we paid for them and all the undercover workers you have on these forums saying "how great the game is" wont save it...I mean really its almost a year later and still no Orbit...I am so done with this game and with Ubisoft good job in totally killing a great series ,,l,,

    @omae

You're entitled to your opinion ofc, but if you check my previous posts you'll see that I've been a major critic of the game up til now. Start a new company, test it out on veteran difficulty, and you'll get a feel for how much the game has changed for the better. Sure, there are bits that still need fixing but the game is massively improved. We still need an Alt-copy button to grab a complete copy of a building and its modules, tundra is buggy if u start a quest, zone out and come back (it wont complete til u go to another zone and then come back to Tundra zone again), and they still need to find a better way of giving us iridium rather than having to run that #&$^%%@ combat mission endlessly (and the app doesnt count.. yes I've run lvl 57 of the iridium space field endlessly too peeps but that's cheating ).

TL;DR - try it from the start with a fresh company, you'll be surprised.

A Copy tool for an area or a whole industrial park might be proven to be quite a programming challenge. What if you don't have enough resources? Which modules will be copied and which not? At least we can drag and drop housing and certain decorations across the map.

That's the thing I don't want to start a new company I put enough time into the ones I already have and on top of that the lag with this update is horrific...I literally need to reboot the game every 20 mins. This is suppose to be a CITY BUILDING GAME not a ghetto stock exchange simulator...I could be wrong but a city builder is suppose to allow you to build a city at least somewhat of what you want it to be not just plopping down the same buildings over and over to make the most money...I mean they have done how many updates now? and they still have not added things I want to see that should have been in the game from the start...to name a few 1) new house models...why in the hell are there so few?? 2) alternate forms of supplying needs..."oh your people are at -2 transportation or entertainment np just plop down a HUGE train station or the 6th god damn exact same stadium...I mean really why not add alternate buildings to supply this stuff? like a small train station/airport for transportation or a casino/theatre for entertainment, same applies for other needs. and 3) a tall monument type building...why are all non resident buildings so low to the ground? I'm tired of these huge holes in my skyline...there are literally countless things I could list that would make this game better but these are the top 3 for me and with each update I hope for them but am disappointed each time with crap.

I wont be 100% critical about this update I will say that it would have been a fine addition to the game if it was done at the start or not much after and also didn't lag the game so bad...but at this point along with the lag? it's just stupid.

@ Omae - Sounds like the lag is killing it for you. I must be lucky or something as I haven't encountered any problems like that and can sit a 4hr session without issue now. Probably luck, as I have seen a few reports of lag...

New house models, alternate need-supplying buildings (whilst different models of building should be an easy fix, I'd still like to see us with an option of upgrading a tier 1 needs building into something taller and with options, such as making it more effective at tier 1 satisfaction, or supplying security needs as well; same for the security building - let us put a bus station on the ground floor with the security part moved upstairs and then have it satisfy some tier 3 transport requirements...) - I'm with you 100%. As for monuments, the issue there is simply that they are sorely lacking. They obviously hit a wall with resources to throw at it.

In fairness, Blizzard (Legion-WoW) just announced that they've run out of resources to update all the range class animations for a (multi)million-player subscription-based game, so the melee get awesome animations at xpac launch and the range all have to wait until patch 7.X to get prettiness.. I get that game-makers often can't reach their intended outcome due to resourcing issues.

That said, some of these ideas seem easy to implement. Are you telling me that you can't add a 'shift-copy button' that would copy a single building and its modules in their existing configuration? If you don't have enough resources, the outline glows red; if you do, you can place it. That can't be that hard.... (says the non-programmer).... the problem is more likely a question of competing tasks... Orbit is a paid-for DLC, so that's going to get priority ahead of these other QoL things we've been complaining about for so long.

These calamities are very "anti-story" gameplay.
The idea of the Lunar Program was power. So now if I don't have random supplies stockpiled in my moon section I loss all power generation for my earth based sections. No warning of 15 mins till solar flare we need these things to get past it without loss of power transfer. Nope you loss it instantly. Whats the point of switching to moon power when it will be wiped out without any notice? You are forcing people to not use the moon power system till they have 300 of everything stocked in case so you can deliver it to the trading post which makes no logic. And why are we giving the supplies to a trading post to stop an event? No story reason. What about the no need to do "combat" missions except the first one every again? Now you loss access to your mines if you don't for 30 mins. Again your forcing us to maybe play a game when we don't want to do combat.

The calamity for the arctic area is a good one. No new building while its super cold but you can counter it. This doesn't effect supplies but does stop you building new things unless you do the get whatever the trader wants.

Now I haven't played this in awhile but I thought I would give it a shot. The arctic area calamity I thought was very good. The other 2 need work as they don't fit into the story very well. Its not like we can't predict solar flares and have warning for them. Its not like a conflict will stop rock slides or unsafe mining conditions. Also do these events cover all areas at once? Ie solar flare effect all lunar sections? Why not? Only one arctic area gets super cold? I haven't played enough to unlocked multiple sections yet as I just was building up capital and now I have no power so I will have no money for a good 30 mins and then will have to re-do everything thanks to poor planning on teaching people about these events in the game. Or how to prepair for them.

I think the calamities are good, but I miss one thing in them: control about which ones I want to play with.
I loved it that in anno 1404 I could turn disasters on and off how I liked it. I would love to have that here as well, because I don't like all calamities and I see I am not the only one.

Like I stated in a earlier post, I would like more control about the sector traits as well. Why can't I start a game with all negative or positive sector traits? Or even better, let me chose in an advanced options menu. I would love that.

I guess I would personally want more control about the details of the game I am about to start. This was one of things things anno 1404 and 2070 did really good and I miss that even more after this update.
