    Call me an elitist, but...

Personally, I only play with 200+ players. I'll explain why: Normally, GS is not affiliated with actual skill, right? Wrong! GS may just be a number, but that number is created by wearing higher leveled gear. Now take a GS 214 such as myself, and compare it with the skill level of that of a 195, there should be a noticeable difference in both skill level, situational awareness, etc. at a higher level, with said higher leveled gear.

Also, as a side-complaint, I also think that Incursions should become 190 required GS, 200+ recommended. This way, we don't have 160's who think, for some ungodly reason, that they can matchmake/complete an Incursion.

You can choose to play however you want or who you want but using GS to evaluate skill is a terrible idea. To many other factors affect gear gear such as luck, available time to play or someone coming back to give the game a second chance. Personally i haven't played the game in about 3 or 4 weeks. Honestly i am bumped out i purchased DLC as i probably won't even play it this game turned out so bad.

I know a few 204+ that are very bad players and I would not play with them again.

Yes, there is a difference between a GS 214 and a GS 195 player:

Before 1.2: The first one is an exploiter, the second one isn't.

After 1.2: The only difference is an afternoon of playing HVTs.

Bad idea trying to matchmaker by gear score. Especially considering the ridiculous amount of RNG that's built into loot drops. I have seen GS 220+ players that are utter crap. Being a higher gear score is nothing. Being a player that sets the bar high for what gear they select is what matters. I only now myself just hit GS 200 and I am VERY picky about what goes into my build.

To be honest I think I been seeing way more crappy players in GS 200+. I actualy ran out of ammo the other day doing Russian CM with a group. I was watching the other guys go down so fast it was crazy. Either they where just glass cannon builds and was going down before they could melt something or they just had some really bad all around builds. I have never used that much ammo with that char since back in my low GS days when I had smostlly a mix of HE and purple items. Than I popped on my weakest char that is only GS 201 and I was in a group of 160-190 guys and we melted the NPC's on the same mission. Though I will admit every one was using voice chat and working as a unit and using all there skills. I was pretty much the only one that went down and that was when I took a sniper shot to the face at the end and that was my own dang fault.

I've played with many 200+ players that arent that good. usually their gear saves them.

I've played with more players below GS 180 that are terrible. Usually their gear can not save them from their bad skill and they just bring a team down.

If I'm doing the challenge incursion gear does mean something. if its a challenge mission it doesnt matter, ill carry a lvl 140 no problem..

point is of course GS doesnt mean everything. but we all know someone who is GS 200 is stronger than a GS 160 for instance, regardless of your skill. no one in their right mind would stick with 160 gear if they didnt have to. someone who has a lower gear score has either played the game less or just doesnt understand the game. you can all act like GS means nothing but it is an indication of progression in the game. not skill. it wasn't ever meant to show someones skill.

    Same

Have seen 220 plus players with less DPS than GS 190 players as they are all about the GS and not focusing on actual DPS rolls like CHD, CHC, skill power, the right set combinations, or team combinations of sets in a group and so on.

Whenever I see posts from people bragging about their gear score, or how they only assess how good a player is on their GS, I cant help but think they are compensating for something......................which is usually a lack of knowledge pertaining to real DPS as apposed to paper DPS.

I have a 163 smg that I use on my main character because it has a great roll for my build and with the lower requirements I unlock all 3 talents. I have the same smg at 204 that I gave to an alt because the talents are not as good and not all 3 are unlocked. The damage difference between the smg's in base damage is a few hundred difference. Does the 160 gun lower my score sure but so what it's not a better weapon to use. Sometimes you have to look at more than GS.

Only yday, after I got a striker chest piece yday, I go up to 228 or 224 with savage gloves, but I don't play with <200 because
    1) wtf are they still bugged into 201+ bracket
    2) most of them cry on the forums and trash ubi for that bug.
So I'm just doing them a favor orther than that, with new updates it's now impossible to find out who is who until you play. Some 200+ are with 240 lonestar + 240 hunter faith + 240 predator .. you get the idea.. and some <200's are noobs. Absolutely no way to tell. Additionally, I'd rather play a noob or someone who doesnt understand how to build, than a 228 guru who is an ******* full of himself and thinking that caring about your own team is for sissies. They usually just run around not giving a f*ck about what a team member needs, and think that theyre enlightening everyone just by their presence and the ability to run non stop from spot A to spot B using the autorun button. Such ppl don't deserve to be revived when downed.
