I'd rather just see an XM25 alongside some normal guns personally.
I would be fine with this honestly. The ACR does a good job as being the Ghost's premier modular weapon.

Well both Advanced Warfighter games did have the XM8, which never say proper military use. And the Ghost's currently use the ACR as a standard weapon. I'd still be fine if it wasn't added, I just want to see some weapon like it. Something highly modular in the way that the SC-20k from Splinter Cell is.

I think the traditional launchers like the M203, the HK M320 standalone, and the MK19 (and maybe the Russian counterparts) would serve the same function without looking weird.

As far as having prototypes in the game, I'd rather see prototypes that are currently under development, like the MDR from Desert Tech.

They could add it in a DLC... Am I wrong to say this?
Ok I understand that, I just took your first comment the wrong way. But honestly I just want to see the Ghosts using prototype weapons. The whole premise of them is that they are what if the Land Warrior/Future Force Warrior program was turned into its own covert special forces group. I like the idea of the MDR also

The XM-8 is in use by PMCs and Malaysian Special Forces. U.S. Special Forces constantly test rifles for the military to see if they should be used on a large scale. The M16 or M4 is still the primary weapon in the U.S. military. The ACR, SCAR, and many other rifles may be used but on a small scale or by PMCs or foreign Special Forces.

XM8 is only used by a few military contractors if any. The few I've seen information on use the weapon more as a novelty instead of their standard issue weapon. Malaysian Special Forces do use them, I did not know that. Malaysia's military has almost no influence considering this game so it's not really a factor. Yes I know M16s and M4s are still standard, I would be a shame to Tom Clancy if I was here and didn't know that lol. The SCAR is currently seeing standard use in special operations, it's not really in testing anymore. The ACR stopped being tested for the US military a while ago IIRC. None of what you said really helps this though considering it's all information that we already know or is not a factor. Doesn't really matter what PMCs use, we're playing as Ghost Recon operators.

Well, XM-25 is being used so there's that, but the most important part is the weapons we mainly fire, like that Desert Tech MDR, god I'm hoping for the 7.62 variant instead of the 5.56 because simple, STOPPING POWER and PENETRATION.... that do sound... meh

and you know, as cartels usually likes cheap reliable weapon, I still vote for Pindad SS2 V5 A1, the damn thing looked like AK-style M4A1 and cheap as... I dunno... cheapest rifle ever?
