Bunker strategy near end of season

I thought this question was of general interest so I'm posting it as a new thread.
Just minutes ago I posted it here http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...l-Mayhem-track

    This is my situation:
The season ends within 14 hours. I'm rank 2 with 5 stars, I have a streak going. What if I start 2 matches and I realize the first is an elite player not letting me have it, and the second is an easier win. Near the end, if I stay in the second match and win it, will I get the 2 star streak before I get the minus star from match no 1? I might not even open the first match until after the season ends, sticking at rank 1. Am I right?

We used to be able to accept the results for showdowns we are inside at the time of showdown end (effectively allowing us reorder our wins to gain more points) but I am pretty sure they took that away.

But now, if you 'dive into' a match and stay with it until the very end (while other matches have completed ahead of this one).... now they push you out to the main showdown screen at the end of the showdown. Which means you have no choice but to complete your showdowns in the order they started. And since you dont get your rewards until you formally accept them in that order... I dont think there is a way to do what you are saying.

How I do this.... you only need 1 point, correct? Best to just start a single showdown... see how you are doing after 30 minutes... and if you feel you will lose, then start TWO more showdowns, and hope you win them both. The 1st win will erase your loss, and the next win will give you the point you need. And you'll have it all resolved after only 5 hours and 30 minutes.

And if by some odd twist of fate you win the first but lose the last two... you will STILL have rank 1 (with 0 stars), thanks to your streak.

    Good luck!

Thanks! Good strategy, I'll go for it. Hoping for the best.

The other question doesn't apply to my situation, but what if a showdown ends and I do not open it until after the season ends. Will the showdown result still count for this season?

It shouldnt matter for this season since you would have already received season awards the moment the bunker is available for the next season. . . BEFORE you could claim the showdown results. As far as I know, you dont get anything for a showdown one way or another until YOU open up the "showdown results" screen.

It MIGHT count for next season. . . not sure anymore. There was a time when people would start a bunch of showdowns before the season ended and finish them in the next season... sort of a "boost" to getting into legends faster. (It worked back then but could really backfire since you could have 24-hour showdowns started prior to a 2-hour showdown blitz season...just confused the game, etc....) But these days.... I think all those starting hours of a the recent new season where the server is unavailable... I think this may be exactly the kind of thing they are now cleaning up.

NERVE WRECKING!!! Turned out the first match was another desperate rank 2 like me. The next 2 matches were Legend no 14 and a rank 3 (but with superior stats on bonxy / tf.lforo). So I just finished a ticket frenzy on the first match. Overtook all 3 tracks with 8 min left, with a great Donkey run on Refinery, good run on Pipeline Camp with Riptide and a far from perfect run on Flower Hills with Bronco. He gave Refinery almost 20 tickets and never made it, but he overtook Flower Hills with 0.005 seconds. So I started mashing away on Flower Hills, but kept stumbling on stupid bumps, which I normally wouldn't, so I never got it. The match ended and then I had to watch him throw 20 tickets on Pipeline. That was terrible, just terrible, waiting for it to turn red, but it never did. So I was rank 1 with 2 stars and the other matches were meaningless. Gave it a try but the were really good so I didn't waste tickets. Now rank 1, 0 stars. I'll stay here, definitely Feel a bit sorry for the other guy though...

FYI, it turns out I actually did this on my alt ID by mistake. I can confirm you first get the season rewards... then you get your showdown results screens... and you get new stars in the new season.
