Is there a fault with Sticky Bombs?

Ok, so i haven't used the sticky bomb that much as i haven't really run with skill power build before. However that changed today and i have discovered that quite often my sticky bomb barely odes any damage, in fact the primary explosion literally does nothing, the only damage is from the bleed effect.

I have tried aiming the bomb directly at the target, aiming it at the ground with the target within the explosion radius but quite often as above, little or no damage from the explosion.

I have 44k skill power just now and am using the BFB mod, what am i doing wrong?

Never shoot directly at people with the sticky. For whatever reason it rarely kills them. If you shoot it at their feet, make sure curbs, body bags, garbage etc, aren't in between your bomb and your target. Some times things only inches high, will completely absorb the blast and not affect your target.

Practice having squad mates run around, and try shooting in front of them with overdose. There's a lag involved, where you have to be further in front of a moving target than you perceivable should. Once you gauge that distance. Imagine just the right distance in front of someone, and triggering the explosion just right to hit them in the epicenter. Practice that while watching out for obstacles etc, and you will cripple or kill people easily.

I've said several times, stickying people isn't as easy as everyone believes. It takes practice and know how. Seems you found out exactly what I was talking about.

i found a post on reddit which seemed to suggest there might be a bigger issue, sure i get the directly targeting someone might not work out that well for various reasons as you describe but the problem seem to relate to attacking elites and other agents. For example if i target a bunch of purples, they will invariably die instantly, not so with elites, they barely take any damage. i have tried targeting the floor, walls beside and behind them and still have issues.

Sticky bombs not working applies to the flash bang sticky as well. I have taken note of obstacles between the sticky and the target, and that is not the case. Too often does the flash bang not blind targets. You see that they get the disable effect, but no blind.

those problems are related to all deployable skill ... sometimes they just don't work ...
support station is another one ... you click and don't even deploy the bag or you deploy it but don't take any effect
healing gun same thing as sticky bomb, she deploy but with no effect, both when you single click or shoot as a gun.
sticky bomb the 3 mods have the same problem... they deploy but don't work ... even the one that should explode by herself she does not. Flash does not flash.
The turret get deployed and after a couple second vanish and the skill has his cooldown free but you cannot deploy for a bit.
smart cover deploy with no effect but activating cooldown.

never found a good reason for all of those issues ...

Sounds like you have failed at becoming a sticky bomb killer bro. I been killing people with sticky bombs forever and now my team mates starting to do it as well. We while 8 guys at a time. If you want to land the sticky bomb damage grass hopper. You must aim the sticky bomb to the side of a running target to land the sticky bomb ahead of him for maximum effect grass hopper. If you hit the back of a running target grass hopper he will run out of the radius before the sticky bomb detonated. That's is my sticky bomb lesson for the day!!

I placed a Sticky Bomb in front of a Rogue today and detonated it as he ran through it. He took ZERO damage. There's definitely and issue here and I'd guess it's to do with lag/latency.

I've been noticing issues with this as well. I was testing it with a friend and tossed one right next to him and he also took next to no damage. I'm not sure what is up with it.

It is a glitch. Only applies bleed staus effect sometimes and thats all... doesnt even send you Rogue. Not sure what causes it.

I've long abandoned trying to use sticky bombs because of this possibly bugged nature. Nothing worse than stickin a flash sticky in a rushing shotgunners face only for it to not blind a damn thing in the blast radius. Smoke seeker mines have proven far more effective, even tho they can get destroyed.
