lone star set is garbage. if anything it would make lmg worse

been looking forward to some sort of LMG set that would bring us on par with other weapons and i have to tell you this set is utter garbage. it addresses none of the issues that LMG has when competing with other weapons.

to start with the 2 set bonus is completely wrong especially when combined with the 4 set bonus but i will come to that later. LMG do not need ammo capacity especially when ammo it thrown all over the place. what they could do with is magazine capacity which would allow them to do more sustained suppressive fire.

the 3 set bonus isnt bad however its not a significant damage bonus compared to other sets. i would have liked to have seen significant armor destruction.

as for the 4 set bonus. when the weapon is holstered it regains full ammo. the first bonus renders this bonus almost pointless. i rarely if ever run out of ammo for my lmg now so between boxes or looting corpses this would be pointless. this is a cover based shooter where you tend to reload in cover. if i need to reload im going to do it when im in cover. im not going to change weapons to get it to automatically do it for me. if anything this should be a significant bonus chance to suppress the enemy which elites are almost immune to. combine that with surpressed enemies take more damage from your team. now thats a bonus to get LMG in the team.

i certainly wont be using this set with my LMG

usually i like to destroy people's theory, especially when they argue about thing that are just on paper and they haven't see yet.

but here guys i must agree on everything ... this is not an useless complaint ... i will personally never use a lmg i don't like them at all ... but this set is just completely wrong ...

sometimes it really seems that devs don't play their own game ...

    +1 on this

lmg can have 200 rounds,I think that's enough.the bonus reloads the gun,I have no idea what more stock ammo has to do with this.

I think the idea behind the fourth piece bonus is the reload time. LMG/Shotgun reload is super long. You can swap it in and out nullifying that reload timer.

Or you can use a Swift LMG and the SASG which both have great reload times.

I can't really fathom the whole "no one is using these weapons so we can't balance them" argument. If no one uses it, it's awful. How is more ammo and a reload gimmick going to tell Massive how to balance weapons?

Yeah but now the you don't need the swift perk or a LMG with a good reload time. I think the idea is that you can continually fire 200 rounds swap weapons (takes about .5 seconds) and begin firing again.

LMG base damage is so low, I really can't bring myself to care about that... If you really want to use LMGs you might as well go 3/3 or 3/2/Savage.

Weapon balance is not complicated and should not be waiting. It's basic math mixed with a little world flavor.

the reload on some LMGs is not that bad. my pakhan with mods is about 2 secs with 88round mag and 860 rounds in reserve. i do not need 1720 rounds when i can go from box to box looting corpses for ammo as i go. having extra ammo does not increase dps. holstering a slow low damage weapon for a mag refill doesn't increase dps by any significant amount to warrant going for that 4 set bonus over one of the other 2 set bonuses which will increase dps. the set doesn't even fulfill any sort or role bonus

it just doesn't compete on any level with many of the other sets old and new. i use striker with my lmg and every bonus on that set beats this set in every way.

i use LMG as my main weapon even with its poor stats compared to other weapons because i think they are fun to use. as a full time LMG user i know this set is bad.

they aready had new gear stes ready ... and couldn't balance weapons before having those set in game ... now they will collect new data and for the next big patch we will probably have a balance patch ... (or i hope so)

What data is there to collect? Use data? What does that have to do with balance?

They aren't adding any new mechanics to weapons. It's all numbers. X damage to Y target at Z range over some amount of time. LMGs cannot compete with ARs, at any range and they get murdered by SMGs at point blank range.
